I'll never hold my breath for student loan forgiveness, especially because the main group of people it will benefit the most is the very same group that gets shytted on the most in society: millennials (and a few Gen X'ers who went to school later or got an advanced degree). But we have at least four groups who are either adamantly opposed to it or completely ambivalent about it.

Republicans: "Personal responsibility. If you took out the loan you need to pay it back. "

Boomers: "Here go these lazy, entitled millennials always wanting something for nothing. "

Gen X: "I had to pay mine back so you need to pay yours back too. "

Gen Z: "fukk it, I'm just not going to college. "

I literally said banks should and lenders shoyld not be able to claim exemption from bankruptcy for student loans. I said they need to be on the hook for default like every other lender. How you read that into me supporting big banks shows that you dont even read well. Smh

Meanwhile those at the tippy top or those who are "connected" can use their financial status and connects to leverage their kids, who may or may not deserve it, into the best schools...

My sister is an orthopedic surgeon and I've been around her friends. For a guy who has been around it as long as you claim you seem to be unfamiliar with the match process but to be fair that's more of a med school thing.

And Damn near every med student wants to do derm because it's cushy job with regular hours that pays really well.

And you're right, the gp tract pays the least so American grads go for high paying specialties which aren't lacking in finding people.

The only way you could possibly convince a med student to do gp to work in an underserved area would be to offer some type loan repayment assistance OR lower tuition (which is something I believe you were against). Otherwise we will be stuck with shytty foreign docs

Match process has nothing to do with what I'm takling about, I"m not talking about residency, I'm talking about unrestricted fully able to practice doctors looking for work.

Some med students want to be in that field, others don't, its like every field and the various specialities. My friend wanted to be in surgery, that was his thing. My sister wants to be a pediatrician.

I know I'm right, I researched this and been told this repeatedly. One of my co-workers who is a doctor and is about to seperate from the AF wants to be a GP back home in South Carolina, where he is from, because he hates the low quality of care in the area he is from.

You can convince students to go when they have to pay back their loans and either the market hits a point where the price has to rise to meet the need or the jobs or so scarce those who don't want to do it, do so because of lack of primary options.

I've never been against lowering tutition, I literally said the best way to lower tuition is to end government subsidization, which caused the tuition inflation.
