So what's the alternative? Getting them in via good faith negotiations is obviously not going to happen. Trump isn't budging from his current proposal which has detractors on both sides of the aisle (too much "relief" for immigrants or not enough). If the administration is as dumb as people like to say the best way is to promise him the funding so we can get this one quagmire out of the way. Beyond DACA, it doesn't seem like the Dems have anymore major legislative goals *sigh* so it doesn't seem like playing dirty once the deal is made will bite them in the ass. I'm guessing they don't want to agree to Trump's immigration limits which would be much harder to undo but you have 1.8 million (Trump's DACA number) who's lives hang in the balance now. Dems are going to have to pick the issue to kick the can on and DACA is about to get kicked off the cliff.

Obviously the issue lies with the President and conservative republicans.
The same corporate or centrist dems you criticize have worked out numerous deals to get the legislation passed but all have been shot down by the President or Paul Ryan.
