Are you stupid ?
No. I’m tryna run. That’s the one thing I deeply miss. Now I can’t even really do that because my park is being used for patients.

the last night they had the gyms open I was in there going crazy on the treadmill and doing leg workouts and shyt. I’m a creature of habit so that was a routine thing no matter where I was. Watched games there, listened to music there, got my work in (and the gym is 2 blocks away so it’s nothing for me to get there). Some things you can make do with (like weights which I have) and some things you can’t really substitute for and running is one of them.

Simple answer to that is cardio and you can do through social distance at 6am in an empty park.

Cardio is stupid. It does nothing but build up endurance. Unless you plan on running long distance it does nothing for fat loss.

Resistance training is the most effective exercise for losing fat, building muscle, and overall health.

I also only workout in Hoodies and long pants at all times. minimize skin content to pretty much only my hands touching weights (not that thats any better but still)

People don’t just go to gyms to work out. You think these Arthur Spooner looking old heads are going for fitness? They’re going for health related reasons and the gym serves as a stress reliever. Y’all forget that sometimes. When you’re running or lifting or whatever, it’s you and the machine. Nothing else matters. That shyt is therapy. Some people can’t do their homework at home. They gotta go to a library because there’s a mental block doing something at home. When you go somewhere else you lock in more. If I’m offered that back, hell yeah I’ll jump at the offer. Like I’ve said this shyt is real but how we’re living now is not living.

they could find a cure for covid-19 and the gym will still be a germ paradise. If you didn’t know that before, don’t ever leave your house. At a certain point when things phase back in, we’re gonna be cautious but some things we’re gonna have to deal with. Y’all don’t wanna go to the gym but then still take 3 trains to go to work right? NYC will always be a germ and virus haven as long as rats outnumber us 10:1. even if all this passes, if everyone still plans on living life under house arrest, you can do outside out of here and be happier and people are gonna realize that.

I been running outside since the gyms shutdown...that damn hard concrete is so different and harder on the knees and feet than the treadmill :to: the things I took for granted:sadbron:

Equinox let members pause their monthly fees so I did that

I’m not paying $250 a month to end up in the hospital. I’m waiting months before going back to Equinox
