One thing to remember, though, is even in Florida (which has the most conservative Latinos in the country due to all the Cubans), 54% of Latinos voted for Andrew Gillum and only 44% voted for DeSantis. Nationally they were 69% for Dems and 29% for Republicans in 2018. That agrees with other polls I've seen. Black folk are usually 70-80% in favor of reparations, Latinos around 40-50%, and White folk down around 15-25%.

If there are Black American posters right here on this site who don't give a shyt about Black immigrants and even welcome attacks on them, then why does it surprise people that there are Latino American posters who don't give a shyt about Latino immigrants (or specifically illegal immigrants) and welcome attacks on them?

I think it's a stupid fukking position in both cases, but it shouldn't be surprising that some take it.

That's why I laugh when posters say that the Democrats give the Latinos "tangibles". Something like DACA (which is basically just temporary residency status) ain't seen as no tangible to Latino voters. If you're a voter then you already have citizenship and DACA doesn't do jack shyt for you. So it ain't no damn tangible. Whether they "like" the idea of DACA or not depends on their personal views and relationships, and there are plenty of Latinos who don't give a shyt about DACA kids any more than many White or Black voters do.

I've met Trump supporting Mexicans though and that's weird as fukk. Like what the hell like it's like some of them have been acting like Trump hasn't been calling them rapists and claiming they're to blame for crime and victimizing them under racist gaslighting.

I think the unfortunate truth is many non black poc in America see whiteness is something of value and they'll deal with racism outwardly or whatever to be recognized as the status quo and have all the power and privileges that come with it. Trumpism has brought this out and the Pandora's Box can't be closed anymore.

Maybe this is a conversation that too deep for simple consumption. I don't know we can't really go off of percentages and flawed Twitter polls we need a real in-depth conversation about this.

I can't tell people how to vote but it's obvious that you can tell a lot about people by who they vote for and how they vote.

Like, legit confused me they saw themselves as White. I'm thinking Venezuelans and Columbians and shyt if I remember correctly. The LA latinos I knew were all low-income Mexicans and Hondurans and shyt, gung-ho La Raza types who didn't give a damn for White folk. Though I know there are both types in every country.

That poll isn’t a good indicator, because many democratic latinx voters were working. Meanwhile latinx republicans were probably home chilling because they have jobs that can afford them that.

theres also a technology limitation you find with telemundo viewership I don’t think you find with other groups. So they may be watching and voting for biden but unable to understand how to actually do so.


All of the above can still apply to Trump too and that doesn’t get passed me. But I think the numbers are closer than this in reality.
