I'm currently studying basically everyday. It's actually easier than learning English in school because you already know how sentences work as far as nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, etc...You just need to learn the words and conjugation. I don't even think it's as complicated as English is really.

Listen to some music and read the lyrics..... read some of your favorite books in Spanish. Get a good spanish verb conjugation workbook. It's really not complicated to get into learning it. You can be throwing folks off with your bilingual abilities in a year.

Duolingo is free and helps a lot. They have stories and a podcast to listen to actual stories in the language. They test your pronunciation as well. It is a simpler language. You can convey the same messages in less words and time.
