Yeah the salary under $45k caught my attention. Maybe it's me, but I've never heard of salaried $35k/yr wworkers.
Not saying it's impossible, but just a weird factor. It would be different if they said $40k to $90k, which the higher salaried workers are sometimes likely to work 50+hrs, at least in my field.
How many people would this have effected at such a low threshold?
I missed that part. Most salary workers i know are at 55k minimum. So was this a performative bill? Hourly retail and labor workers are the ones making below that so even if it passed who was it helping? This is based out in texas so does anybody know the salary of those workers? Im in a union and get OT after 40 but Texas is a right to work state with no unions right?
