Yeah the salary under $45k caught my attention. Maybe it's me, but I've never heard of salaried $35k/yr wworkers.

Not saying it's impossible, but just a weird factor. It would be different if they said $40k to $90k, which the higher salaried workers are sometimes likely to work 50+hrs, at least in my field.

How many people would this have effected at such a low threshold?

I missed that part. Most salary workers i know are at 55k minimum. So was this a performative bill? Hourly retail and labor workers are the ones making below that so even if it passed who was it helping? This is based out in texas so does anybody know the salary of those workers? Im in a union and get OT after 40 but Texas is a right to work state with no unions right?

No fake nikka.. You don’t know what the fukk you’re talking about……. Address the counter statements or keep exposing yourself as an other….

Yall omitting the fact that restaurant managers will get a benefits package and hourly wage workers dont…. You wanna be cracka adjacent nikkas do not speak for the common negro

I can only speak for myself and the restaurant folks I knew/know. So I’m not saying this is across the board at all. But we had to FIGHT to get benefits at our job. None of the managers got anything until we forced that lol

But looking back, I’d rather get OT pay than the benefits. The restaurant didn’t pay for it 100%. So we would’ve made more by getting OT and paying for the benefits ourselves.

Again, I know this is anecdotal, it’s just my and the people I know experiences. I’m as common as the come

It depends on the state but it can be low as fukk, especially when you add in no overtime.

Outside of teachers, name an industry that employs a lot of nikkas on salary making less than 45k without benefits?

This is a classic Democrat trick to give off the illusion of being for the working class. Salaried workers get paid on average significantly more than wage workers. Compensation is based on the fact that they wouldn't have to get paid for overtime because it's build in.

Biden knew that shyt wasn't going to go threw, but it did it anyway so he can say he "fought" for the working class :mjlol:

And people will fall for it like they always do.
We should take this slowly.

The DOL** was the body that promulgated the rule - which is well within their power.
This isn't a controversial issue - and its the extreme end of the right-wing judges, who control the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and most of the lower court who ruled in this case - egged on by the right-wing bloc of the SCOTUS who have attacked administrative power culminating in the Loper-Bright decision from last year.

Companies making employees salaried is also another work around to have people work outside office hours without pay.

So tellling a salaried employee who’s working 90+ hours with no extra pay that it’s no biggie because you get paid more than hourly workers is also another way to show disconnect with working class Americans.

:insert “congratulations, you played yourself” gif:

I have to ask, even though i know the answer, but do you nikkas READ?

This was not for people like me that are salary but make six figures, this was for people that make way less than that, the average worker. This rule was to help those that made less than 60k and were salaried, not people making 100k+, so what the fukk are you talking about? It sounds like you don't know people could be made salary and make 30-60k.
And speaking as a guy in news, it would’ve definitely helped a lot of salaried folks who make as much as I do or less. Oh well
