“The truth is that a tattoo identifying Tren de Aragua does not exist,” she told me. “Tren de Aragua does not use any tattoos as a form of gang identification; no Venezuelan gang does.”

The real truth is they never cared about the truth. First they pick a target group, make up a story, then go after the group and use the images to instill fear and coerce obedience, then move to the next victim. Once you get the pattern, the rest is simple.

Of course not. This is the casus belli the Nazis are using to do their ethnic cleansing. First it was allegedly to go after MS-13, which has a tiny presence in the U.S.
$100 Stephen Miller Googled "Venezuelan gangs" and used the first thing that came up. These. Are. Nazis.

Somehow the Trump admin has outdone the Japanese internment camps of the 1940's.

Like yes, today’s human rights abuses are very very bad. But also, Japanese internment camps were very very bad. There’s not much need in comparing which atrocity was less awful than the other. They’re just both awful!

Couple of questions:
1. Are there actually *any* Tren de Aragua gang members in US?
2. It seems like ICE is going after easy people (law-abiding or only guilty of non-violent law breaking e.g. overstaying a visa) and NOT going after actual dangerous gang members? Is ICE just quota-filling?

Yes, the erasure of Due Process is... deeply troubling.
Also, once it was confirmed that Andry José Hernández Romero—and potentially many others—has no connection to Tren de Aragua, why has he not been immediately flown back to the United States?

We need accountability for ICE and DHS. We need oversight of these agencies and a means to check them when they abuse their authority. Judges need to hold individual officers accountable.
