I thought about buying a dog a few years ago. Then I thought about how much money and time I'd have to actually put into him and I didnt have either to spare.....so I bought the puppy anyway right? I was never there, he never ate like he should. Constantly got out and ran the streets, met up with some other likewise dogs who flunked out of obedience school only to spend they time "around" school telling other dogs to do the same cause nobody cared about them.
I grew to resent the dog for his perceived selfishness and unappreciation for all that i sacrificed to provide, no matter how little. He became a constant reminder of what i gave up. The decision i quietly regret to myself, yet feel guilty for thinking. And since he was MY dog and it was MY fault, i couldn't bring myself to fault him for his behavior and choices so i gave up on him, did my thing and checked every now and then to see if he had slept in his bed.
Meanwhile, my dog became more reckless and unruly, valued very little in life (including his own) and started listening to Chief Keef, even grew his hair out like him
...if only I had been more responsible with my decisions. If only I hadnt been so selfish. If only I had been more capable, I'd have been able to raise my puppy, even in this environment, to become a service dog, a search and rescue dog.....a SHOW CHAMPION EVEN! Last i saw of him he was running through some warehouse picking up copper pipes with his friends. Dunno what that was about.
:kanyeshrug:
Anyways, now I'm 10yrs older, not any better off than when i was before and Im so sad about how things turned out. Think I'll go buy a puppy, maybe that will make me feel better.
And where is this stated anywhere? Don't be an idiot
Me and my siblings all went to private schools and great universities, that's the way it should be.
Gotta make better use of that private school education
Me and my siblings all went to private schools and great universities, that's the way it should be. Each generation's purpose should be that the following generation has it easier than they did, why even have kids if they're not gonna have it better than you?
So you're such a f*cking idiot that you can't even back up your opinions. Another day on the coli
Quote the whole post, It's supposed to be about the next generation having it better than the previous generation, Private school was just an example
You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. Hows your social life breh
I have a chip on my shoulder because of how poor the reading comprehension on this site is. The social life is , + I just graduated from college. Life is good
What you study ? Found a FT job yet ?
To answer the original question, I dont think that is being selfish at all to have a kid before financially successful
- There is no way to know if you will EVER been financially successful in the first place, so that shouldnt be a reason to stop from having a kid or two (notice I said 1-2)
- This teaches the kid to be able to live/ deal with tough times, so that once you do make good money (or the kid does when they are on their own), they know how it feels to be poor, and work harder to never go back to that.
I actually think its more selfish to only have kids when successful, because the kids depend on you having money, and always taking care of them. Once on their own, they wont know what to do in tough times (think about all the white trust fund babies who "commit that" when they lose a job or have any type of debt. They dont know how to pick themselves up and try again)
HOWEVER, its very selfish to keep having kids when broke, and they getting on the news and saying that "someone has to pay for my kids" when they decide to have 6-10 kids. No excuse for that at all.
Many ways to look at this though. Just my opinion.
So refute it. I want someone to explain to me how having kids without being financially successful is responsible/unselfish
