Because most of this vitriol directed towards these so called “ ratchets” seem to be cloaked in anti-blackness, thinly disguised as respectability politics. Our culture is so unique, and for any black person to allow such myopic views about certain members of our community to be loudly extolled by god knows who is troubling to me :yeshrug:
Being against degeneracy and ratchet culture is not anti-blackness. They are not and should not be intrinsic to black culture. To critique those specific issues != anti black.

This is peak low self-esteem. Be better.

Black people need to reject this kind of behavior even more. I don't know why most black people are so fukking sensitive towards and get offended at attempts of self-reflection, self-awareness and intraracial critique.

The whole thing is fukked up and lots of confusion.
  • I agree with him that people need to act accordingly based on their surroundings: Know when and where to be ratchet and when and where to be classy. At the same time, you cant be playing trap music and not want people to twerking.
  • I understand the women saying they just didnt like about his delivery. But at the same time the same woman who said that is talking about "...if im gonna be unapologetically black and twerk then you gotta respect blah balah blah...". Exactly where does black culture end and street/trap culture begin?

I mean sometimes harsh words have to be heard.

But man some of these chicks are absolutely fuming on twitter. Must have touched a nerve.

:mjlol:

Let's be honest if they got drunk at a white restaurant they would not dare to be twerking on furniture.

Sometimes you have to set some standards. Now they know.
Yep this is the bottom line. They wouldn't do this shyt at a white restaurant. A lot of black people don't show other black folks the same respect they show white folks.

Didn’t you hear this type of respectability is rooted in whiteness :troll:
