It was super underwhelming especially after Netflix recently gave us that epic shootout scene in Hold the Dark

Saulniers direction has truly been missed the last 4 eps

lol, it's a detective show. Yes, the season 1 shootout was amazing but you can't expect them to top that shootout every season. Pizzolato's attempt at that in season 2 proved how pointless it is because it didn't feel natural at all. This shootout worked for what it was, a small situation where a single vet got the drop on a bunch of barely armed rednecks and a couple of cops who weren't prepared for a shootout.

Anyway, "the man on tv" aka "the man acting like my father" is definitely one of the bosses, since she also said to the officer on the line that he "worked for them".

Not too far fetched that Lucy may have sold Julie off or gave her away. I'm still not sold that Tom is involved...not yet. I'm almost at the point of not suspecting Amelia either.

Almost....That extra set of prints on the toys that somehow came up missing. Amelia and that cop she flirted with came to mind as to why that file with the unknown prints is suddenly missing. Could be the AG, though.

we have enough evidence to know what happened almost conclusively. Not the exact events but the gist

After the interview, there are only 3 possibilities
1 Man on the TV is not Tom
Extremely unlikely, as she said its "the man acting like her father" lol
2 She was simply brainwashed to believe Tom wasn't her real father. A less farfetched theory. Problematic because she said she "knows what he did", indicating that he was connected to the kidknapping. On the other hand, supported by her comments that she's a "princess", indicating a twisted fondness for her captors.
3 Tom and Lucy sold their daughter, or possibly both their kids into slavery. They've both expressed emotions going beyond what a grieving husband and wife would go through. Lucy in her interview with Amelia, Tom in that 1990 prayer scene with Roland (I will expand on this when I rewatch the scene). Additionally, Tom did pretty well for himself.

I don't buy theory 2 because episodes 3 and 5 put the spotlight on Lucy and then Tom.

The way Roland didn't respond to Tom in that scene was a perfect emotional cue - he didn't raise an eyebrow, he straight up condemned him.

Its very possible Tom isn’t actually her biological father. I think lucy hinted in the first episode that Tom isn’t julie’s father, and she may have had julie with her creep cousin Dan

It's definitely connected to season 1 though which lends me to believe that there is a connection to season 2 also but I haven't found that yet. Either way I like that this is all playing out in the same universe.

Her reading jungle book pretty much confirms my thoughts on what's to come. Listen to what she said. She does something terrible herself. I'm not willing to say she's part of the conspiracy yet, but there's a strong possibility...or that perhaps she tries to solve the case after she leaves and gets someone hurt or killed. I know Hayes is going to illegally murder someone in 90

I think they find the killer and have to let him go. I think they're being played again. That woman calling the hotline isn't the little girl. They're throwing them off.
