Another reason I prefer season 1 (aside from the obvious difference in quality) was season 1 was damn near horror in some parts....it was creepy and weird as hell. I hope they bring that vibe back for season 3.

Didn't see anything Carcosa/Yellow King-like in the teaser, but that ransom message looked creepy as fukk. I do think the occult is coming back this season, the music being played tells a lot and the Ozarks were originally intended to be the setting of S1.

One thing to note also, Ejogo's character seems to be either dead or Wayne is in a dream-like state here.

When you are the creator it can be tough to concede on your vision.

True,

But when it comes to TV where the Creator/show runner and Director can be different people i think some show runners need to bite the bullet and compromise a bit when they have a director they make magic with.

Cary Fukunaga help make season 1 a classic and Season 2 without him was wack....

He should have tried to make it work IMO...

But im a huge Fukunaga fan so i'm probably very biased :yeshrug:

Man I get so tired of people saying S2 sucked. It's not true. The bar was just set ridiculously high with season 1.

S2 of true detective is better than most shows. Fact.
It was extremely hard to follow but I was still enjoying it
Even tho I had no idea what was going on

i still think the hate for season 2 was excessive

people were acting like it was the worse thing ever made
It was doomed from the get-go having to follow off of S1's success. Season 2 is still quality television, better than most of what was on television at the time. I'm actually going to rewatch it after I finish S1.

It was only bad if you compare it to season 1 :francis:

It was alright IMO. :yeshrug:

I hope season 3 brings back that feel from season 1, but I'm going to try to watch it without constant comparisons to season 1. Just watch it on its own premises.

They had too many characters it should've been just rachel McAdams and Colin Ferrell. Colin was fantastic..
i like mcadams but she was either miscast or hurt by the writing, i think teresa palmer or noomi rapace would have killed her role..
Who ever wrote Vince Vaughn dialogue needs to stay the fukk away from this show
"its like blue balls except in the heart" :why:

The plot and storyline was super trash and outlandish. The great acting was what made that season still watchable

Vince Vaughn and Kitsch were abominations.

Farrell and McAdams were good considering the awfulness they had to work with. That dialogue and plot were fukking brutal.

shyt was Iron Man 2 & 3 status.
