Great acting on Harrelson's part because I could feel how pissed he was that someone would have a world view like that. When he brought up the cross, he was sure that he at least had a religion. Something "normal". Rusty hit him with that fire and all he could say was "Keep that shyt over there.". I'm a fool for dialogue and this episode gave it to me in spades. There's also some humor sprinkled throughout which I appreciate. What stood out the most to me was Hart's reaction to the stuff Cohle was saying in the car. Like he wasn't just taken aback by it, he was absolutely disgusted by it. In everything it seems Hart is extremely judgmental (to the point his wife already knows Cohle better after talking to him for only five minutes) and trying to be part of the 'pack', whereas Cohle is a straight arrow who has no pretensions and keeps it real.
How do you want your coffee?
Strong and black. Just like you.
Also when he explained to the cops about him drinking at 12 on his days off. Little moments that flesh out the characters as human and I guess, relatable.
