So he was going 85 while riding the shoulder to avoid hitting someone. I'm no truck driver so I don't know how this shyt works. But could the momentum of him going down hill with no brakes push the truck to 85mph without him hitting the gas. And I wonder why he didn't take advantage of the runaway truck ramp. Didn't even know that was a thing until now.
It said the ramp was going downhill. I'm no truck driver either but I imagine that wouldn't have done anything but possibly kill him with how fast he was going. I can't imagine being in that situation, he probably panicked.

Doing 85 in a tractor is no joke. Especially for a truck hauling lumber. Most of them have governors that limit them to 60-65.

I dont see him not trying to take that runaway ramp unless there was a car in the way. Could have very well been not trained to slow down those truck without relying heavily on the brakes such as droppin down to a lower gear, using the jake brake (thats that loud rappin sound trucks make sometimes) . If the brakes fail on semi’s they are designed to fail while they are being applied opposed to not being able to step on them.

That's a ridiculous sentence he wasn't drunk or distracted the 85 Mph isnt that much when you take into account he was going down a mountain and could of easily picked up another 10-20 mph after his breaks failed.
He probably panicked it's easy to say he should of did this or that after the fact. I would of given him 15 years max
