I was looking at how close it is to Missouri City bc thats where my sister is.

My brother in law and a small infant are trapped in South Houston on a roof, and our family been trying to get him help, calling the National Guard and stuff, but idk how much help black people are getting.
Your sis should be fine..
I live in Mission Bend/Sugar Land/Alief area..
Sienna plantation is in Mo Ciry area, so she is probably getting hella tornado warnings like I have but my homie texted me that he's okay..
Here's a map of the reservoirs

South Houston, midtown, uptown, downtown, are flooded..
Homie who lives on west Alabama says it's crazy flooded, especially around the galleria(Richmond/Westheimer/WestPark) area..
My prayers are with your people..

Im just always skeptical of shyt like that, I don't trust the government to have peoples best interests at heart. Releasing reservoirs into a already heavily flooded area seems backwards as fukk but I am not an engineer :ld:
the american interests/assets our government chooses to protect are almost always corporate so you got a right to be skeptical.

So the mayor didn't encourage evacuations but the Governor said to evacuate...

First off, why wouldn't an official urge folks to evacuate?

Was the mayor concerned about the road network being overwhelmed?

Honestly don't understand why people don't leave... Regardless.

If the forecast is saying this storm is gonna be a doozy... why not leave?

I mean... you see this shyt comin... you see the news...you have the MEANS and RESOURCES and MONEY to leave... to literally drive two counties east? Why not leave regardless? :mindblown:

A lot of the folks being shown aren't elderly aren't dirt poor and aren't disabled... they appear to be able bodied homeowners.

...doesn't seem like many of the those affected were dirt poor like those in Katrina... It's a tragedy and it's horrible.

But it appears they had the means to leave. these are homeowners, not folks in subsidized housing like in Katrina.

...the language that some media outlets are using, they're trying to make this in to Katrina low key...It's not and shouldn't compare tragedies.

I mean, how does a senior citizen's home not get evacuated... just off GP? :mindblown:

So this Black Mayor going to take the fall for not calling for an evacuation right:francis:

There was no need to call for an evacuation. We weren't taking a direct hit and everyone knew 3 days ahead of time exactly what was going. The local news stations were right on the money. People had the choice to leave if they wanted. Can't blame the mayor for this.
