Climate change and ridiculous development like putting up subdivisions and townhouse/apartment blocks everywhere? This is how Houston gets 3 biblical floods in just three years.:francis:

Those new townhome blocks, at least the ones inside 610 in say east downtown, aren't as bad as those subdivisions that you see outside of 610. those subdivisions are huge and take up lots of land.

good. fukk them.

CNN spending an awful lot of money to parachute in and cover this. what resources have the given to help people though? :jbhmm:
That's not fair. CNN has been on top of the storm since it was a category 2. What resources have they given? They've been the #2 source for this storm, with the #1 source being the NAOO.

If CNN wasn't covering the storm it would be, "omg look at CNN talking about bullshyt." When CNN covers the storm it's, "omg all CNN does is cover the storm. Do some other shyt."

Y'all can't have it both ways.

Depends on where you put them. There's open land right across from my house (610/South Main) and they're throwing a giant ass retirement home block in that joint. :snoop:

it's not just about "amount" of land though. It's the placement within the ecosystem. Building on top of an already destroyed wetland isn't as bad as gutting out a new one.

@Zero imagine what a hurricane like this can do to Norfolk if it fukked Houston up like that.

Last tropical storm had Tidewater Drive looking like an Olympic sized pool

And just as I'm typing this I find information about a new storm forming out in the Atlantic and its potential tracks
