Houston Brehs. My thoughts and concerns are with you, your families and loved ones.

My understanding is that after Katrina, the city of Houston has had an influx of new residents swelling the population. Places that used to be fields and natural land have been paved over with concrete. With much of the city being pretty flat in combination with all the concrete in place of natural land, the water does not have anywhere to go. is this true?

It's more about developers. Most of the homes by the reservoirs and lake Houston etc... are affluent. They didn't build things for Katrina victims. They were talking about it last night on channel 2.

Most of these areas were never meant to be residential areas. They were meant to help relieve the city of flooding. The city and county allowed them to build a lot of money was made. They have been doing this since before Katrina.

Harlem via Brooklyn
Not sure but very possible.
I've been in Houston 5 years and theres so much more than there was when I first got here.

Agreed. I used to travel frequently to HTX for work 8 years ago. We had an office at 500 Louisiana St down there and so much has changed when I last visited family this past year. Stay safe and keep us posted.

Idk your guess is as good as mine, its all speculation at this point all i know is this Trump visit is going to fukk everything up. They will have to shut down the whole city even more then it is now.

The storm is going to make another pass and estimates have upto 50 more in of rain and that this will last tell the end of the week, the Bayous are already overflowing and will fail and engulf large swathes of the city if these estimates are correct.
I thought the rain was gonna taper off around Wed. night

Yeah that Jeff Linder dude sounded annoyed as fukk when he mentioned that their were "structures" built right up against the spillway.
