Think of ways to make money after this disaster.
Cleanouts and flood damage repair going boom.
Car salvage.
That is the fucced up part of all of this, there is going to be a huge economic boom here because rich people (that normally hoard their money) are going to have to spend money and put money into the economy at the local level. Even the disaster relief money that's pouring in is going to provide a lot of jobs.
On the other end of it though, there is going to be a massive, massive, massive amount of volunteer labor that will be needed. And people can't just prey upon people with price gouging and other similar tactics.
There are a lot of creative and innovative people here and a lot of businesses. I hope that people will continue to do right by their neighbors like they are now.
I'm still ok here for those concerned, gonna be out helping again today because many in my direct proximity are not. Also gonna get clothes ready to donate when the waters clear enough for us to actually move around again.
