at this point it's gonna be hard to see how they top this next year in philly, as far as presentation wise goes. i don't see them doing any manias in anything other than a football stadium, and i think it's been like that for some years now. just gonna keep getting bigger and bigger. been rewatching some old manias recently to get in the mood for this weekend, got up to 10, might keep going a bit more when i'm bored or continue it next year lol. but its crazy how they went from small arenas at times to now big spectacles. they had a few big ones back then tho but i don't think it was as grand as present day. it just gets more spectacular as the time passes. and no other company can compete. i think what if wcw was never bought out, if they would've achieved this level, or maybe even ECW even tho they were much smaller. Impact hasn't even come close, and AEW still fairly young so we shall see what level they're at in 30 years, hopefully they and we are still around. But nothing compares to a mania. I think summerslam heading down that road too especially with raiders, titans, and now lions stadiums later this year hosting last 3. they might end up making that a 2 night event at some point by end of the decade. granted this all if they don't sell or if the new owners don't fukk things up and let them run shyt and they just be in the back silent.

I guess Paul and TKO must've liked my idea. :troll:

Yeah, Pretty much confirms they not getting WM42 either lol

Wonder if they taking that shyt international :patrice:
I’m thinking that they’re making summerslam the B cities like Minny and international sites version of Mania

They can easily do 2 night sell outs, and this helps the indies out immensely. More bookings, more money, more opportunity

Facts. I didnt even think of the Indies. That is another week that they can put on shows to make money with 40-60k coming to a town due to WWE.

WWE is out here feeding the masses.

WWE LAYOFFS TODAY

By Mike Johnson on 2024-05-23 12:27:00

World Wrestling Entertainment had a number of employee layoffs today, PWInsider.com has learned.
We are told there were "a few" layoffs, including some long-standing employees. We have not confirmed the divisions involved but it was believed by one source t be more than one area of the company.

There is no word whether the depatures are related to today's announcement that the UFC and WWE live events division are merging into one division going forward. TKO Group Holdings has continued to assimiliate the two companies since purchasing WWE last year, seeking ways to cut overall costs to help maximize revenue.

Liza Koshy, Cody Rhodes, CCH Pounder & Busta Rhymes Round Out Cast Of ‘Naked Gun’ Reboot
EXCLUSIVE: Paramount has rounded out the cast for its untitled Naked Gun reboot with four additions: Liza Koshy (Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts), current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, CCH Pounder (Rustin) and Busta Rhymes.

No word on the roles they’re playing, but we’re told Rhodes will only be making a cameo. As previously announced, Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand and Danny Huston will also star. Neeson plays Detective Frank Drebin, with Hauser as his partner Ed. Roles for Anderson and Huston haven’t yet emerged, though it’s understood that Durand will be playing the film’s villain.

Akiva Schaffer is directing and exec producing the comedy, slated for release on July 18, 2025. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the draft script along with Schaffer. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing via Fuzzy Door, with Daniel M. Stillman also serving as EP.

Known for their absurd scenarios and slapstick humor, past Naked Gun films centered on the misadventures of Drebin, the clueless and bumbling police detective played by Leslie Nielsen, who also starred in Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker’s short-lived series Police Squad!. Grossing over $216M across three films, the film franchise launched with 1988’s The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, with sequels The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear and Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult following in 1991 and 1994, respectively.

Most recently seen in titles like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Cat Person and Players, Koshy will next be seen in Netflix’s Family Affair with Nicole Kidman, Joey King and Zac Efron, as well as Sony’s My Ex-Friend’s Wedding opposite Amanda Seyfried, Ariana DeBose and more. Currently, she also hosts Roku’s new home renovation series Empty Nest Refresh from Velvet Hammer Media.

A professional wrestler nicknamed “The American Nightmare,” Rhodes joined the WWE in 2022, prior to that appearing as part of All Elite Wrestling for several years. In film and TV, he’s perhaps best known for an arc on The CW’s Arrow.

Known for starring in FX’s The Shield and the Avatar films, Pounder’s recent credits include 3 Body Problem, Rustin, Avatar: The Way of Water, and NCIS: New Orleans, which she starred in for 155 episodes. Among her other upcoming projects is the Prime Video series Anansi Boys.

An 11x Grammy-nominated rapper, Rhymes has appeared in films like Halloween: Resurrection, Higher Learning, Narc and Finding Forrester, along with such series as Fresh Off the Boat, Master of None and Chappelle’s Show.

Koshy is repped by CAA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller; Rhodes by Prototype Talent Agency, WME, and Feig Finkel; Pounder by Mitchell K. Stubbs & Associates; and Rhymes by UTA.

Just saw this, basically will make KQotR like a Royal Rumble to setup Summerslam. Ingenious idea that increases the stakes even more from making it just a glorified accolade.
