Why is the thread upped every time he has a good game, I understand he will be up and down as I basically said in my original post, but you are upping this thread to prove what?? He's shooting 37% on the year, lets calm down.
He's had plenty of good games the past couple weeks. I bumped it because tonight was his best yet. The shooting percentage will wind up around 40-42%.

I really just don't see anything special with this dude, he's a small PG, the way people talk about him you'd think he had superstar or top 5 PG potential when he has neither.

His following on here is just really strange to me.

-Dead eye shooter
-Great in the PnR
- Great strength
- Doesn't turn the ball over for a rookie much less a veteran
- Good North-South speed and methodical in the halfcourt

If he can learn how to finish i.e. watch alot of Tony Parker and Steve Nash tapes, he'll be alright. I've seen people on this very forum hype Giannis as some sure thing and Oladipo despite his inability to be productive against good competition. People will keep saying that "they don't see it" until he clearly moves into a top 10 pg slot in a few years. Top 3 player in the draft, not sure who else we are suppose to hype?

He's shooting 40% on jumpers, far from dead eye.

He can't learn how to finish like Parker or Nash because he's 2-3 inches shorter than both of them, he is a small PG and realistically they do not finish well in the lane. The dudes ceiling is basically Ty Lawson, which is a good player but far from anything special.

Giannis isn't a sure thing, but the potential is through the roof off the fact he's 6'10 & growing while it looks like he may be a Point Forward in the future. On the flip side there's nothing that jumps out about Burke's game, dude just seems like he'll be your run of the mill PG.

- Look at his TS% and probably his EFG%, he's definitely a sniper and I'd expect his percentages to trend upward. A PG who doesn't turn the ball over EVER isn't a special skillset? It's one of the things that distinguished Prime Chauncey Billups on those Pistons teams.

- Burke has a longer standing reach than either Nash or Parker and he is an inch shorter than Parker. Ty Lawson and Mike Conley are top 10 PG and in this draft, how is that not noteworthy? At the same time, I see people hyping Oladipo but go look at his stat splits between teams above and below .500. Now look at Burke's splits and the Jazz record before and after he came.

- Giannis could be great. I think he is more AK47 than Durant which is great but people are getting carried away.

which is why this should be revisited in a couple years or at least after this year is finished. I'm more along the lines of he'll be good/solid but not elite. He's in the league now so my opinion is unbiased. Even Darren collison was beasting out of nowhere for a quick minute.

If he turns into Ty Lawson, that means he's a top ten PG. I've been saying he's probably going to wind up like Mike Conley, which is a damn good PG and a guy you can win with.

Among PGs who play more than 20 minutes a game, he's second to Chris Paul in assist/turnover%. Utah was 1-11 without him, 6-9 with him. That's a pretty big difference. The kid just knows how to play and he's a gamer.

I mean that goes without saying. I do think the things Burke does well are more likely to stay steady than flukes like Collison and DJ Augustine. He doesn't have to be elite because who is really looking elite out of that draft?
