Gotta love the Coli. A black dude gets a position in a top 5 late night show and the thread doesn't get 10 posts deep before the negativity creeps in
Surprised? folks dont want to see a black man on top. They loved him as the side kick.. Not the main eventHasn't even been 12 hours and they coming out at Trevor saying he's Anti-Jew cause of some tweets. See that people, keep posting anything and everything on social media like it can't be used against you. For the most part I'm seeing positive stories but I can see a lot of people are upset he's hosting. I hope he proves a lot of people wrong.
I don't know if it's like that, but once I saw his bit I went to look up a few more just to see and he did the same kind of "i'm a mixed race kid and black americans are different from me" type of bit. shyt was corny to me, in a room full of white people making "nah mean jokes" and speaking in faux african american vernacular english for some laughs. We'll see tho
Isn't that the bit where he says he came to America wanting acceptance from black Americans because they have the coolest culture on the planet? I found it corny too but didn't see it insulting. He's got better bits though, talking about meeting the Cali girl and how Americans watch football versus the rest of the world watching football (soccer) show a pretty great point of view.
please, there was nothing smart or funny about it. it was corny stereotypically hey look black Americans are others and talk funny...laugh with me white peopleI didn't see his viewpoint as insulting or corny. I found it hilarious and seeming like something that some (not all) Africans may think/feel like. Ultimately, his POV was pretty interesting to me. It seemed fairly from a source of intellect and humor at the same time. And his vernaculars/dialects/etc. are spot on and amazing.

are you from the hood? That's your POV. Everyone I know that seen it/showed it to thought it was hilarious and smart. Plus, he imitated damn near everyone and was intentionally a play on stereotypes, not so much saying that's all anyone was. I wish the brother much success.
are you from the hood?
because I am and I can say from experience that the bit was a horrible representation of how people from the hood talk and act. it came off as a white washed c00n trying to belittle his own people for a cheap laugh. Why?

So, allow me to ask again are you from the hood?:dre:
cuz if not you need to shut the fukk up about what is and what is not corny and stereotypical portrait of urban African American culture.
not telling you what to do, just trying to save you from embarrassing yourself.@ THIS wanna be tough guy trying to tell me what to do.
I was born in DC, long before gentrification happened there (I'm in my 30's). Should answer your question enough. I've known plenty of cats that talk similar enough to that. If anything, sounded like he was trying to New York it up a bit, with the "nahmeans" as we definitely didn't say that in earnest out there, but I know NY was on that tip.
