Blasphemy.

Trevor was cool as host, but Standup is where he truly shines.

He was good at pointing out absurdity, but he lacked genuine anger at the absurdities which makes sense given that he wasn’t raised here.
Most authentic post on Noah ITT, I don't take most people's takes on comedy seriously because most can't see the value in someone with a different frame of reference/taste. Given his background, he's funny in his arena, but American politics isn't really his arena

I don't like that millennial tongue in cheek snl type liberal humor and Trevor Noah's stand up is even worse:francis:

If we're talking that type of comedian I'd easily put John Mulaney above him

I don't think it's because he's an immigrant he lacks spite for the political class he satirizes, it's that those types of entertainers aren't too far off from the people they criticise. Stewart and Oliver have a history of being farther left and harsher on politicians before they became actually famous. That's just not the case for Noah and most others.

I view Trevor Noah and John Oliver the same. I think they speak about interesting and important subjects. But I don't find them funny.

Every time I watch Last Week Tonight or The Daily Show, I wish they would leave their comedy out of the segment they're doing.

Jon Stewart, while corny in a lot of ways, was funnier to me. Or at least, I didn't feel like his attempts at humor were cringey or took away from the story he was covering.
that episode jon stewart had pretending to be glenn beck with the white board was hilarious.:russ:

They should just give the show a rest until a republican is back in office. It’s really the only time these shows are hitting like that.

Yeah. Went to see one of his shows at the end of 2019 because my lady likes him on the Daily Show. Was surprised to see that the show was PACKED. He was actually pretty funny, too. He'll be just fine.
