im 5”11 around 270 pounds of fat I been starting to work out on the tredmill every day for at least 30 minutes starting out.

So question I been exercising on max incline which is 10 for me and running at around 8 to 9.7 mph for around 30 mins per day.

Am I losing more by doing this or would it not make a difference compared to if I were running the same 30 mins with 0 incline and the same speeds?

If I can lose more weight this way about how much more cals would I be burning extra going the route I’m currently going on the high incline?

i guess congrats @ running at that speed and incline, but i'm sure you're beating the hell out of your joints. you'd be better doing a few HIIT sessions a week on a bike and then walking on a 10-15 incline @ about 4 mph for 45 mins a few sessions a week until you drop closer to 200lbs. this activates muscle and puts you in the cardio zone

lastly, if you really want to get a good estimate of cals burned invest in a heart rate monitor with a chest strap, most accurate wearable IMO for tracking fitness activity.

With all due respect I call bullshyt on this. I've never seen anyone run that long at that speed on 10% incline at any gym I've been to. Especially not anyone your size.

This is what I really wanted to say. That’s a fast pace at a 0 for 30 minutes, let alone a 10 incline.

Unless he’s doing sprints at that level 30 secs on/1 min off for 30 minutes, I’m not seeing how this is possible.

I'd bet my last dollar at his size he couldn't even do that.

Yeah my legs do tire out quick on the high inclince and I push myself to run at a faster pace I usually break it down in portions but I make sure I get the 30 mins or the least 20 mins.

I was just curious if the high incline helps burn more calories since my body is working harder

You can't even do it for 5 mins straight chief. I'm on the treadmill five days a week on incline and I'm over 100 pounds lighter than you and I'm not doing that nor is anyone else in my gym.

When I'm not regular running on the treadmill, my treadmill stats are incline 15, speed 4.4. This burns a 1000+ calories per hour but its VERY hard to do longer than 10 - 15 minutes, and nah, I never did it longer than 10 - 15 minutes at those numbers. When I first started going to the Gym I did do incline for an hour which burned 500 calories in a hour, I forgot the incline/speed number to get that calorie burn though.

I'm 6,1, around 200 pounds. I was 240 when I started in Nov 2017, don't give up breh :myman:

It probably does but there are variables you can’t really track. Be that as it may, find a good training program and dial in your nutrition. That’s most important right now

Leave that man alone, you done told your share of lies too :camby:

Depends on how much you weigh. I'm under 170 and workout with 275 :smugfavre:

My starting point was 260 lbs breh. I was legit :flabbynsick:. Started a crash diet and dropped like 55 pounds and maintained that for awhile, then I got in the gym and started lifting but I wasn't eating right so I had the bulky 50 look. Now I'm eating right and lifting right and getting enough cardio so it's all falling in line right.

Starting point 260, then says he loses 55 lbs

thatd be 205 lbs

but in this post November 8th he says hes under 170 lbs

this mafukka would lie about anything :mjlol:
