It's not really that surprising if breh really does own a PS5. It's like asking who would break the internet more if Rockstar allowed either Drake or Ninja to post a teaser of GTA VI. Ninja is really popular in the gaming world, you'd be hard pressed to find a gamer who doesn't know who he is (unless they're just up there in age or don't really follow the internet in general like that), but... It's fukking Drake.
There's a difference between an influencer in a certain area and a celebrity musical superstar, arguably one of the biggest ones in the world.
Travis performed at the Super Bowl, was up for a Grammy, has a McDonald's deal currently going on, a shoe deal, had a concert in Fortnite (which MANY people tuned into), Sicko Mode was a huge hit single, and people were waiting on Astroworld due to the hype it had. I think people don't truly get how popular Travis is with the younger crowd, because he's extremely loved. Even in the Type Beat producer circles, everyone's making Travis-Astroworld type beats. He's extremely popular.
So, if you're a marketing expert at a company and you wanted to generate hype, who would you go to in order to strike a deal? It goes without saying that they're gonna go to the guy with a gotdamn McDonald's meal.
No disrespect to the tech influencers at all because they're important in their lane as well, and sure, in
their lane, there's probably more respect. Kanye during the Yeezus era was upset because he couldn't just walk in and use his stardom as an instant respect card in the fashion industry. But, if we're talking buzz and marketing, you go with where most people are going to look. That's how it goes. MKBHD may very well own a PS5 as well, who knows, but even if he doesn't... That has nothing to do with Travis at all.
