There's a thriving previleged light skin elite class in the African American community who hold most of the wealth in the African American community. And there are people who have up to 60 percent white admixture and their phenotype only represent less than 10 percent of the Afram community, yet they are celebrated as the black standard of beauty.

In many cultures such as in Britain and Brazil, a spade is called a spade. Biracial people have their own category. By doing this, identity politics is less complicated. America is still stuck on the one drop rule and Black Americans(who actually have substantial Black admixture) are paying the price.

Brazilian and British culture are nothing alike. Brazil proves my point. The creation of a mixed race group of people who don't identify as black has subjugated those classified as black even more. The creation of a separate mixed race category has just put another group of people above those classified as black on the totem pole. The box that you check on a census does mean anything. At the day of the day, if you're someone who's visibly of African descent then you're seen and treated as black.
