A lot of these summer movies feel bloated. It's like the studio brehs are afraid people are gonna demand their money back if the runtime isn't at least 2 hours. Personally I would rather a tight, cohesive movie than a movie that borders on overstaying it's welcome and has me looking at my watch.
All of the good summer movies I saw this year would have been BETTER with like 20-30 minutes cut depending on the movie.

Captain America was just over two hours but it actually had a good story. A lot was going on that it kept you engaged. I don't mind a 2 hour run time but anything beyond that has to be a dope story like lord of the rings or a biopic.

See I loved Cap 2 but I distinctly remember a brief spurt here and there where I was slightly bored. I definitely remember it feeling a tad too long as well.
That's the M.O. for a Michael Bay movie. If that's how you feel, you're not gonna like any of his movies.

The Rock was a classic. Bad Boys was dope. The Island wasn't bad. He got a few dope movies under his belt.

I never really had High Expectations for these Transformers Movies. I'm a Fan but not a Real Fan of Transformers, they weren't a part of my Childhood at all which is why I probably enjoyed all of the Movies so far much more than Transformer Fanboys did. I guess I just like these Movies mainly for the Visuals.

these movies are nothing like the cartoons though. the cartoons were cheesy and you would had to have been a kid to like them. I was more into the toys and the cartoon movie (though I watched the cartoon every Saturday). Some cartoons/comics are hard to transfer to live action. I think the struggle with this franchise is incorporating human subplots to draw a more diverse audience.

No, Micheal Bay hasn't met an explosion he never liked. Going off of memory, I think his only 2 hour film was the original Bad Boy. The other films (going by my memory) could use a good trim here and there.
Armageddon was extra long, Pearl harbor was super long, and Bad Boys 2 had like 3 45 minute blocks that could stand to be removed.

The Rock was 2 hours and 16 minutes, but it didn't feel that long and it was probably his best movie. Pearl Harbor was about 45 minutes too long

I haven't seen the rock in years so I'm going off memory here. The beginning when he was a chemist and we are introduced to his "hot" girlfriend, that can be removed. The entire scene drag racing through San Francisco way entirely too long, and about 3 other things that made the movie drag. Pearl Harbor was like 3 hours. That movie stunk.
His best movie was the original Bad Boys. And that was 15 minutes too long.
