Edward scissor and hollow both dressed in drag

I'm talking about a movie where he plays a normal human being

Dead Man
What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
From Hell
Public Enemies
Blow
Finding Neverland
Don Juan DeMarco

Alright Johnny, you had a good run with your demonic weirdo caricatures but i think its time to start acting like a normal human being on camera, playing the costar roll and perhaps going into cable television. Johnny could probably take his antics to some Showtime tv series. I dunno I guess friends have had enough of his try to hard characters.

He's been on a cold streak for a minute even with the acclaimed movies.

This happens to everyone, eventually people get sick and tired of you. Whats jarring for certain actors is that they've been popular for like 3 decades and then they just hit a wall and not sure how to recover( Willis, Smith, Cruise, Depp)

It'll be interesting to see where Robert Downey Jr is in 5 years. He was smart in that he knew adaptations with built in fanbases sell more than the actual actors themselves and hopped on that Marvel/Sherlock train, plus didnt have the pressue of being an established box office before despite bering known and acclaimed. But I think even he will run into that situation where people will tire of him after a while. So if he sees that I'm wondering how he'll reinvent that. Right now he's got the luxury of knowing that the comic book genre is the one film genre that doesnt appear to be drying up (even unnecessary Superman and Spiderman reboots made crazy bank in the last 2 years)

Jerry Maguire , catch me if you can, captain Phillips are examples. Just your normal everyday human

Are you being serious? In Finding Neverland he played the guy who created Peter Pan; in Public Enemies he played Dillinger; in From Hell he played a Victorian era investigator; and in Don Juan DeMarco he was a guy who thought he was Rudy Valentino...none of them had super-powers, no crazy make-up was used and there was no over the top special effects. :what:

He was a normal human being in this. The cast was actually the best part of the movie. It was everything else that was garbage.

Depp and Jolie cacced it up so much in the Tourist that they became insufferable to the cac audience they were pandering to...

Plus the Native Americans put a curse on Depp after that publicity stunt shyt he pulled for The Lone Ranger...Dude went from saying "No it's okay I can play Tonto I am part Indian"...to "Well I think I am Indian my grandma hung around Indians"...to "Well this random Indian lady made me an honorary member of the tribe so yeah I can play Tonto" :camby:

Jolie fell off so bad she had to go to disney to try and reinvent herself...Did that Land of Blood and Honey movie ever come out? shyt was supposed to be her directorial debut and it just became vaporware...

Oh shyt it did come out and made a smooth 300k...

RDJ will be fine if he understands that he can't coast on the same performance forever. That's why the guys you mentioned above hit their wall. They played variations of the same character over and over until audiences got sick of it.

All of this flopping he is doing makes that casting more and more unlikely.
Whether he flops or not is irrelevant...all that matters is if he's still a good actor and how good it's gonna look in trailers and previews.

Iron Man sold well with RDJ coming out of a long hiatus
Thor sold well with some unknown playing the main character
Cap 1 & 2 did numbers despite the lead being the guy who played Johnny Storm in those horrible F4 movies
