Any major reason we shouldn’t be back next year, other than Greenlaw injury?

Overall. The NFC is slowly turning into what the AFC is aka an arms race. They got Pat and Lamar and Josh and Joe and CJ. Jordan Love and Goff are gonna be back. The Eagles won't have this same down year. The Rams are going to be even more dangerous......and we got a lot of good injury luck for two players who are usually problematic (Deebo and CMC)

I think Purdy will be stable, and Jennings could take Aiyuk spot if that contract doesn't work out, but just overall the balance of the NFC was really in our favor this year and we still were a bad pass or two from losing to the Lions and Packers at home.

We get a first down here and provided Moody could hit a forty-something yarder chiefs now would at least burn all of their timeouts and get the ball with no timeouts left and at most like 1:25 on the clock

Just sickening

It was such an obvious blitz too and we had nothing to counter it.

Lions got the best shot at being a long-term player in the NFC. Their cap situation looks fresh, the Goff contract looks just fine with the current qb salaries, and they can keep incrementally upgrade until they can improve the qb. If they get a young good Qb via draft who is mobile they will be a problem for years. That oline, Gibbs, and a qb who could move? :picard:

Rams are very young and promising, but that offense is very Stafford reliant right now and he's prolly one big injury away from retirement.

Even beyond Gibbs. Montgomery is only 26. LaPorta is 22 or 23. St Brown is 24. Jameson Williams is 22. Penei is 23 or 24. Aiden is young as hell too. Their entire core of really good players aren't even 25 yet, but the Lions have the same problem we have. They have a very capable GM/FO team stacking talent with a HC that's a double edged sword. Dan Campbell got too greedy against us and has been adamant that he won't change.

It seems like McVay has figured out a way to protect Stafford so next year they'll still be good in my mind, BUT long term they're in trouble. I don't think McVay knows how to coach a young QB.
There was no time to do anything on that play with the protection we had for it :heh:

Going back to RG3 Shanny has always put his QBs in harm's way. I just accept that it's part of the plan that some plays will have free runners, but there's going to also be someone open on the back end as well......it's why I think it's so weird he hates off schedule QBs. His play design philosophy damn near requires it.

at the timestamp around 30:30, the coach says exactly what I was saying about scoring 3 in the OT

you could feel the anger and sadness throughout the cast :mjcry:
