Trade 3 Firsts and a 3rd for a 4th Brehs - Official 2023 San Francisco 49ers Season Thread!!!

I'm talking about the Philly game. I've shytted on DLine (Bosa included) before and was laughing at how they needed Wilks to go down to the sidelines to babysit them to actually play well.

I have no idea how we have the same folks for literally a decade posting in the same Niner threads and act up like we have never read each and shyt.

If all of this is the case then everyone here should stop bringing up pressures ever again as a meaningful stat ever again because I've definitely brought that shyt up before. For everyone's understanding on why they're bullshyt stats because you brought up both Chase and Bosa pressures as most of the 49er media peanut gallery and I'm good on people pretending it's doing something.

There's pressures, hurries, and sacks. You can only get one of those per play as a player, and they give you the highest, so if you're getting a hurry they don't count the pressure as well. If you get a sack they don't count the pressure or hurry.

Pressure - 2 yards at pass forward OR 1.5 yards at any point
Hurry - WITHIN 1.5 yards of the QB aka within arm's reach (THIS is the one you should lead the league in if you're not in the top 10 on sacks)
Sack - Goes without saying

You can be completely blocked on a play, as in non threat, as a defensive lineman and still get a pressure counted if you are 2 yards away when a QB throws the ball. He leads the league in pressures because he's not getting hurries or sacks like his contemporaries. When you look at hurries Bosa isn't in the top 15. He's also not in the top 15 of sacks either. Neither is Chase.

He's been bad this year, including post bye, and no amount of pressure stats or supposed strategy talk is going to change the idea of that until he actually starts affecting games. This whole pundit strategy this year of finding loopholes in stats to make cats look good when they're not is kinda exhausting. It's all justifying his contract. That's all it is.

Don't bring up pressures anymore and pretend like they're good when they're NOTHING. It's a literal sign you're falling for a half assed PR job.

The last two games the line has looked better. But Bosa is teetering on looking like how Zeke looked after he got paid.

The money spent I'm expecting damn near 20 sacks a season.

I still maintain that Wilks has been doing a great job this whole time on top of taking shots for Kyle's random ineptness, Brock's failing in multiple 4th quarters before the bye, and our well paid defensive players shytting the bed. Lane Johnson false starting or not he shouldn't have been able to do what he did to Bosa all game and Chase was basically a ghost.

He was a ghost against Seattle but he applied quite a bit of pressure against Philly. Seems like the ends were to play contain on the outside most of the game which is why our only sacks came from the tackles. Plus they didn't run so there was nothing the ends could do to get any stats for real.

Brown missed two tackles against the eagles, both of them long them third down conversions. Aj brown one I'm more OK with but that whiff on devontae Smith was pretty bad and let them convert 3rd and like 19

Oh yeah that was him. Huf misses a lot of those too, hopefully that doesn't happen again but other than that I've been impressed by him.

I think Trent retires and that will clean up money for Aiyuk

Trent Williams is signed till 2026. I don't see him retiring before that unless we finally win a ring or he sees it impossible for us to win a ring and decides to stay home.

They'll find money for Aiyuk. They aint re-signing Chase. At this point Aiyuk is one of the top players on offense, you have to keep him.

yeah Im not saying hes a bad player, just referring to some issues hes had so far. I havent watched the film but also read elsewhere he was late on coverage a few times as well. he should keep starting though to get some reps and improve
