Quick question y’all: saw the first two, but never did get around to watching the third. I know everybody is talking about how well that joint ended and what not...but is it super necessary to watch the third first before seeing this newer one?

Absolutely necessary. The third one is the culmination of everything that was done in the first two movies. It completes the arc, and as far as I know, the fourth one picks up where the third one left off.

That's why I was like :gucci:when I heard about them making a fourth one because the third one was the perfect finale.

yes it is. This is one of the few franchises you gotta watch in order.

I won't lie, it still hitting me hard. 3 had the perfect ending because it was a happy ending, you walk away from the franchise knowing everyone ended up happy. Part 4 had a 'happy' ending yes, yet now you always gonna walk away from the franchise feeling sad.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
It still felt a bit inessential but won me over by the end and had me in my feels as I mentioned. And it was pretty funny.

It took me about 20-30 minutes to get in to it. I was scared at first that it was going to be like Finding Dory or Incredibles 2 (good sequels but easily forgotten) but as soon as I connected with it, I was hooked.

Naw breh. It's a happy ending. Woody and Bow were meant to be together since the first one. This ends his story perfect and allows Jessie to get her shine as Sheriff. Woody was straight up collecting dust at the start of 4, now he has a new lease on life. And Bow proved how bad ass she is with this one. Bow is now one of my favourite TS characters. They did the series justice with this movie. Also, the Toy Story Shorts have so many possibilities going forward if they keep making them.

Well I hope they do keep making the shorts and specials. I watch Toy Story of Terror every Halloween.

But
It'll still be sad not seeing Woody and Buzz on adventures together anymore. I'm happy Woody ended his arc with the person he loves, and happy that Jessie is the ringleader now (although from earlier in the movie it seemed like Dolly to Bonnie was what Woody was to Andy), but idk...it's still sad. I left Toy Story 3 with a happy sadness. I left Toy Story 4 just plain sad. The movie did a great job though with Buzz's story in that he took that leap to be The Man now for the future when it comes to being a hero (although he kind of had a similar arc in Toy Story 2 when he had to lead the toys w/o Woody).

Yo Toy Story of Terror is the shyt. They could have straight up made that a movie on it's own. I love Toy Story That Time Forgot as well. They legit need to keep pushing out those Shorts. Forky and Knifey need their own. So does Woody and Bow and and Carnival gang.
