I can show my parents something 10 times, they’ll forget it 11.
IF YOU BASE INNOVATION OFF OLD PEOPLE, WE WOULD STILL BE USING ROTARY PHONES.

OLD PEOPLE ARE NOT REALLY CONSIDERED WHEN INNOVATION HAPPENS. THEY ARE NATURALLY RESISTANT. YOU LIKELY WON'T WIN THEM OVER SO YOU KEEP IT MOVING. HIGH END LUXURY HAS ALWAYS BEEN PACKED WITH FEATURES AND BUTTONS. OLD PEOPLE COULDN'T WORK NONE OF THAT shyt EITHER.

FROM A BUSINESS STANDPOINT, YOU CAN'T MAKE CARS FOR THEM AND WIN. ANYONE 65 AND UP IS EXPECTED TO DIE IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS OR LOSE THEIR DRIVING PRIVILEGES. THE CARS THEY WOULD DRIVE DON'T EXIST ANYMORE. THEY WERE MONEY SINKS FOR CAR COMPANIES. THEY HAD TO SHRINK THEIR LINE UPS.

CAR COMPANIES TRIED TO SAVE THEM BY MAKING THEM PERFORMANCE VEHICLES BUT THAT ONLY WENT SO FAR. NOTICE THAT ALL OF THE SLEEPERS OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS HAVE BEEN CARS MARKETED TO OLD PEOPLE WITH CRAZY ENGINE CONFIGURATIONS. THE POINT WAS TO MAKE THE CARS USABLE WHEN THE ORIGINAL OWNER DIES.

Wheel controls should be fine for music as long as the heat and air aren’t on touchscreen

My truck has a huge touchscreen.

The only thing I worry about is anything that is software based has to receive firmware updates or it gets glitchy or outright inoperable over time.
How long do the updates take?

I read somewhere manufacturers were reverting back to buttons because everyone complained about not being able to feel their way while driving. Poeple complained touch screens were a distraction

It don't matter anymore because all physical buttons basically are wired to a computer. Back in the day, everything had a fuse, if the buttons for your heat/ac didn't work, change the fuse, radio won't turn on, change the fuse.

Now that everything goes through these computers, you can't just change a fuse and fix shyt. That computer can throw error codes, freeze up and lock up and you gotta take that shyt to a stealership. Don't matter if it's touchscreen, or button only, or hybrid, or voice.

yes this is frustratiing especially when you prefer to do maintentence yourself, BUT as far as still looking on the road and touchign buttons it helps.

I know but in my whip I literally just had it where my buttons didn't work, I have an on board map and shyt. Don't need Google, can use voice commands, Bluetooth. My system threw an error and none of that shyt was working. Luckily it was just a glitch.

Long story short, I took my car to a quick oil change place and while I was there they decided to put air in my tires. What I didnt know was when they did, they replaced my brand new tire stem caps with some cheap ones that corrode so basically when that happens you gotta take it back to them. I had brand new tires with tps sensors and all that. I went to put air in my tire and them shyts were stuck on. I used a tool to get the cap off and it snapped my whole stem. Entire brand new tire deflated. Luckily they can just replace tire stems. Guy at my tire place charged me $50 and said "don't take it there to get your oil changed, you bought $1300 in tires and paid cash, we'll do it for free. Just swing her in".

All my tires sensors were going off, my check engine light and brake light were on, my vehicle steering assist and AWD drive and shyt was off because I was on the donut. Once I got the new tire on everything was fine.
