I think it was a combination of whoever started the #GiveDivasAChance ( I guess AJ) and the episode of Total Divas where they were showing Wrestlemania probably 3-4 years ago and they were supposed to have a 6-8 diva tag match & the Undertaker's match went too long. Their match ended up getting pushed off the card. I think that episode snowballed into seeing how the women's matches in NXT were getting noticed then eventually Stephanie's "crusade" to drop the Divas title

I could have swore the "Divas Revolution" didn't start until AJ Lee put Stephanie on blast on Twitter about the hypocrisy of her congratulating David Arquette's sister on her speech after she won an Oscar....
Remember AJ tweeting about how the women should be giving more opportunity screen time and the Bella's where like like nah where fine with only getting 5 minutes on tv.

This women revolution they call it was one of the very few times the WWE took advantages of what was going on in society with Serena's winning the Grand Slam the U.S women soccer team winning. Ronda was still running shyt in the UFC.

It was them trying to make some money and ride the wave for once and they had the women in NXT that where over as hell and could work there asses off and connection with the crowd it was a perfect storm

:mjlol: at Nikki trying to take credit for the Women's Revolution. Stephanie stannin' for Ronda Rousey had more impact towards the Women's Revolution than anything Nikki did. AJ Lee, Paige, Emma and the NXT Horsewomen should be the ones that should claim the revolution start.

Now I will give Nikki credit on one thing and someone mentioned in here already but a lot of people tend to forget that it was that one match the Bellas had that pissed of so many people that it started the massive #GiveDivasaChance movement that led Stephanie to dikk ride it and try to claim the movement herself. Here's the match right here that was the straw that broke the camel's back:

"Actually, while the girls who aren’t on the reality show are just wrestling, us girls on the reality show are wrestling, are filming, are never sleeping, going to appearances, making sure that the world knows how amazing women wrestlers are"

Did she legit bury every girl not on Total Divas :heh:

They had some good matches in previous Takeovers with Paige, Emma, Sasha, Becky, etc.. but the FIRST time I heard nikkas say "you need to watch this women's match" was the first Takeover Brooklyn with Sasha and Bayley.

So I would give credit to Sasha and Bayley.

Hasn't there always been some kind of divide between girls on the show and girls who, as Nikki puts it, "just wrestle?" :jbhmm:

There's been murmurs that Nikki tends to feel some type of way when girls refuse to do the show. Could all just be heresay, but Nikki just flat out putting the TD girls over the others suggest she really is in her emotions about this.

I wonder how she feels about the fact that the Horsewomen have all been left off the show. Of course, idk if that's because they offered and all refused, or because the company knows the show's rep, and wants to preserve the HW's standing as legit wrestlers.

This breh I use to work with, his wife use to watch Total Divas and she had literally no interest in Wrestling and she loves the show and still has no interesting in wrestling. :pachaha:

Any reality show where women are the main focus of the show, women will watch.
yep i watched mania last year at a random party and all the females there came just because they watched Total Divas...they had no idea what was going on and wondered where all these other Non TOtal Diva's chicks came from...most of them were mad Sasha wasnt on the show...rightfully so :manny:

Found her quote about it too

"What's funny about that is we were given about three minutes. Three to four minutes. And we – us four girls who were in the match – we put our heads together and said look: we can either give them a two minute match, or we can give them nothing and get Brie and I so much heat and tell a great story…We're not gonna give people three minutes of BS, and it ended up being a big chance. It ended up turning into #GiveDivasAChance trending worldwide for two days. I mean, we could've gone out there, done a few moves and called it a day, but we were like, 'How do we tell a great story?' and at the end of the day, that's what we did. Brie and I got good heat at the end of it, we got trended for two days straight, and it was like, 'Whoa. We're storytelling now.' And that's what puts the Divas on the next level. Instead of just going out there and doing moves, we storytell. 'Cause that's what the boys do, and that's what we need to do."

Bellas so desperately want to be in the conversation of the "Women's Revolution", but the truth is, they were/are the epitome of what a WWE Diva is and that's not a compliment. They're part of the old shytty era, not the new and improved one.
Basically

The Bellas were more known as ring rats than for their workrate or performances
