I could of swore it was a hashtag that started it. Doesn't surprise me she's trying to take credit. She got pushed to the side when it started.
"Give Divas a Chance" and all that. I wasn't even watching the product regularly at the time, but I remember that blowing up.
I'm not going to say for certain Total Divas had no effect in bringing female viewers because I don't have numbers or anything to back it up. But to say it started the women's revolution? Hmmm...You gotta keep in mind that the revolution was about women being taken seriously in the ring. Not just by fans, but by management. Even after Total Divas started, the women were still largely after thoughts on actual WWE programming. They were getting left off PPV cards and having meaningless tag matches that only lasted minutes even after the show had been on for several seasons. The tide didn't start to shift until Paige, Emma, Sasha, etc started poppin and showing there was money to be made in women's wrestling without a reality show to bolster it.
Honestly, Nikki often comes across like she's desperate to be respected and admired. She knows most fans don't hold her in the same regard as vets like Trish or Lita, and that she was largely pushed aside for the Horsewomen. shyt, she was on Smackdown last year catching the beats and getting ethered by a chick who was fresh out the performance center.
It's crazy because she's plenty successful without being considered a pioneer in wrestling. She created a lane for herself in reality TV and has had a decent career as a wrestler. Have some pride. You too old to be trying to take shine away from these younger girls.
