"Sadly I have seen this exact thing with a former athlete of mine. These exact same symptoms. We immediately knew he needed professional help. He was later diagnosed with schizophrenia. He began treatment and is now living his life. Parent, teachers, adult, please learn the sign of mental health episodes. This is exactly what was occurring in this young man. Homelessness could have been the trigger. This breaks my heart to no end.
If you are in the city of Atlanta and know someone who is suffering Grady Hospital has a mental facility and they will gladly come and assess the situation and determine if the person needs to be admitted. It is better safe than sorry.
Most black, sadly, only know to respond in the manners of the concerned parent. That was the only thing/way she knew how to respond. Please please please if you are in doubt turn to those who maybe able to get you professional assessments of the situation. Let this be the last of out young black boys who has to go through this situation in this manner."
