These nikkas were dropping bodies left and right and having shootout after shootout and the feds still ain’t pull up the whole season. This ain’t Chicago if you knew anything about London you would know that in itself is very unrealistic as well. Modie breaking out of prison and just going about his day. CCTV would have spotted him in hours. It was a great season but if you think this show is even close to realistic you need to learn how UK life really is.

I'm already from the UK.

Every show takes some form of creative license for entertainment purposes, even ones based on true stories. My point is that any lack of realism pales in comparison to Power - which I don't think it's even good to compare the two anyway cos they're totally different shows. Comparing it to The Wire or maybe even The Chi would make more sense.

:dwillhuh: But you tolerated this in GOT?

I mean there's some accents I don't like myself but that doesn't stop me from watching a legit show.
GOT had a variety of accents, and it was fantasy. i can also bear with it for film, but a series, it's got to be good...from what i'm reading, i've seen enough street shyt to not sit through it being done in UK accents....like that's truly the accent i hate the most, no clue why - i like aussie/NZ accents, irish/scottish accents are entertaining to me, but the british accent, especially coming from black people, has always irked me :manny:

I quit watching power like two seasons back. It always came off as a filler show that I was watching just because....

There was no real depth to it. shyt was so ppredictable and cringeworthy.

It's just a guilty pleasure at this point.

The first two seasons were legit, after that the ridiculousness just got too numerous to the point where it's like watching those old kung fu flicks. You KNOW it's gonna be bullshyt but it's fun as hell picking out all the plot holes and flaws just for kicks.

nope, i keep seeing this mentioned but realize it's a UK show...i hate UK accents :francis:
I hear ya, but if you like shows like power, the wire, the chi etc....

Then this show doesn't disappoint. The accents aren't too bad but the story line, production and cast are on point. Best series I've seen so far this year

Just give the first couple eps of the 2019 season a go and you'll be hooked.

What he was trying to say was he only likes British accents if they're coming from white people.

yea, i said UK when i should have said british specifically

and many GOT accents were the actors trying to sound not as british (jon's weird accent, gillian's poor accent) in either case, like i said, it's fantasy, a genre that for some reason tends to always default to british accents. i don't want to see street shyt, and i dont like that accent on black people...get over it.

it that to say i won't watch anything with the accent, no, but i got enough on my plate to not feel compelled to jump on a brit show of this genre

What he was trying to say was he only likes British accents if they're coming from white people.
that's exactly what i'm saying...except you're missing the entire point of why i don't like it coming from black folks :ld:

edit: anyway, i'm done replying to this shyt, it's derailing the convo yall are having about the show...enjoy.

This shyt is closer to power then the wire. But if you from the UK I can see why you think so highly of the show. She once again great show, but a lot of cheesy shyt. Hits with shotguns in broad daylight? Yeah show almost had a sons of anarchy fukkery but at least they were in a small city.

I think highly of it because it's a good show, period. :stopitslime:There's American posters in this very thread praising it just as much, so what about them? If I didn't think it was all that good, I'd say that.

The Wire had a gay dude on his own actually walking with a shotgun in broad daylight and robbing crackhouses with people dropping their drugs to him with no fuss and had whole crowds of people running from him like he was Michael Myers.

A whole gang war in The Wire was fought on the street in broad daylight.

Chris and Snoop murdered a family during the day time.

Shootings, stabbings and all types of fukkery happens in broad daylight in real life. We're talking about ignorant street kids here, not strategic hitmen like Tom Cruise in Collateral. You think gangs wait until street lights are on and the moon comes out before they commit brutal acts?

So no, it ain't closer to Power.
