the biggest holes raptors had is at guard and center

literally a highly touted guard is there and raptors choose some fringe backup forward guy

2020 patrick williams number 4 71 games last year avg 30mpg
2019 deandre hunter STARTER avg 14 his rookie season
2018 jaren jackson jr starter avg 14 points and 5 boards as a rookie
2017 - josh jackson - bust but started 35 games as a rookie avg 25 mpg and averaged 13ppg

Naw, his ceiling doesn't look that high, But I am rooting for him.

I think a player with his physical profile, high motor and on court intelligence has a high ceiling just because of those attributes. And his shooting mechanics look way better in workouts than they did in the college season. But he very raw still. I like his unteachables but his success hinges on him learning the teachables which is up in the air.

To be clear, I preferred Suggs but I see the appeal of Barnes. I don’t love the pick but I think there could be something there if he can fix his shot. I’m not mad at it.
