Wilt again, don't think he's better than Kobe either.

Duncan
5 chips (led 4 teams, 3x FMVP)
2x MVP

vs.

Wilt
2 chips (led 1 team, 1x FMVP)
4x MVP

Wilt does have 2 more MVPs but Duncan most impressive run ('03) is more impressive than Wilt's ('67).

good points

most people are reluctant to vote for Wilt because of his insane stats, me included

I want Russell out first and then maybe Wilt

Wilt averaged 50 & 25....50 & 25. that will never ever be done again. dudes can't even grab 10rpg anymore

In an era where the pace was at an insane rate, put any Great in that era and they'd have ridiculous stats too, I will give credit to Wilt being way ahead of his time athletically without all the stuff athletes have now.

Doesn't matter. he was still the only one to do it. There's not even a 40ppg scorer in his era. Logo and O were there and not even they were putting up 50ppg for a season. Bill Russell was at 20+ rpg and he wasn't putting up those offensive numbers....not even on putbacks.

nope

1. jorda
2. lew
3. magic
4. bird
5. wilt
6. bill

I'm only 22 and am trying to be as objective as possible given the info in front of me.

Bi Russell just didn't seem to score enough and wilt seemed to just be a bigger- than-everyone else stats guy. He doesn't have the heart of a champion reputation Jordan , burd, Kobe, etc. have.

What's crazy is these guys could be 1-2, they just have so much less "lore", so to speak, because of era largely. As far as I know they are a level below the top tier of greats.

Wilt: only two champs, one FMVP in the 60s/70s era :camby:

Russell: 14 career ppg :camby:

Jordan
Kareem
Lebron
Magic
Shaq
Bird
Duncan
Wilt
Russell

He played 48.5 minutes that season and took damn near 7 more shots the next closest ppg scorer (Baylor 38ppg). Both Logo and Big O took 15 less shots. Again playing 48 minutes at that pace is a ridiculous feat in itself but his stats are misleading (haven't even mentioned how much of a stat padder he was early on).
