I feel like people are mixing popular and overrated together. Transformers are popular but that doesn't make them overrated. Someone said Harry Potter, anyone who isn't a big Harry Potter fan isn't overrating them.

Boondock Saints...I don't get the hype about this movie, outside of Dafoe, thought it was trash

There will be blood...thought it was boring, only watched it once, maybe need to give it another viewing

Casino...I like this movie, maybe I'm too tough on it because it gets compared to Goodfellas even though they aren't in the same league

Napoleon Dynamite...I kept waiting for it to get funny, it never did. Never before this had I legit felt like two hours of my life had been stolen. I've seen worse movies but you kinda know what you're getting into before hand, not this movie I still want my two hours back.

Avatar...visually stunning everything else boring

American Hustle...just not a good movie, and I thought Jennifer Lawrence wasn't good in it and as a NY'er her accent was one of the most cringe worthy attempts at a NY accent I've ever heard. I'd still let her sit on my face but that besides the point

Star wars... Saw this when it came back out in the theaters in 96 or 97 and huge hype and marketing behind it, probably had too high expectations but I didn't get what was the big deal.

Bridesmaids...it has it moments, like the airplane scene. But people said it was funnier than the hangover, the 2nd half was boring and predictable and had very few laughs.

Captain Phillips...I thought this was the ultimate U.S. military propaganda fluff piece. Look how strong our military is, we took out some guys in a rubber raft. That said, Tom Hanks did his thing but he always does his thing because he's the man.

How high...just didn't think it was that funny and I was a pothead at the time too, just didn't think it was all that funny.

Ghostbusters sucks. A lot of those 80s` movies are overrated. If the list was bigger they would be listed.:yeshrug:

Yeah, I tried making a thread about this a while back and it didn't go so well because people tend to cling to their nostalgia. I mean, that's cool, but you can't tell me a piece of shyt is a masterpiece just because it's old.
