shyt is no different than AS saturdays.
Apparently they don't have the money right now to make major changes so hopefully they aren't lying when they say that if they get more viewers they get more money.shyt is no different than AS saturdays.
The line up is understandable. They barely have the money for more shyt. Did anybody really expect them to go all out at the start?
Better ratings= more content. The original Toonami went through the same thing.
And let's be real, the new Toonami is going to be better than whatever Adult Swim has on Saturday so I'm not complaining.
DMWL is a good series. I'd rank it somewhere in the 7.5-8/10 range. I still havent watched Casshern Sins.
You gotta understand that [AS] and Toonami both had a lot of reruns back in the day. Shows like Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, DBZ, etc were ran numerous times which since it costs a lot to license these shows. They only pick up new series every 2-3 years.
I think they just picked up two new shows last year. So if the ratings are good we might see something new next year.
I was just hoping for some shows I never heard of
These would be fair points, but there is A LOT more riding on Toonami being successful now than there was in 1997. They've already said they need twice as many viewers as [as] Action normally gets for this to be considered a success, but that's extremely unlikely with this lineup, not to mention that they're not even promoting it outside of the block itself.
If this fails, it doesn't just kill Toonami for good. It kills one of last chance places anime on American TV and does serious damage to the anime market as a whole (and, no, this is not an exaggeration). And for what? Just so people can watch some promos that'll be on YouTube the next day?
I'll still watch, but I don't know how long this is going to last.
Demarco said in order for Toonami to grow (meaning expanding into earlier times slots) they have to double the ratings.
