Wow they showed the video! I can't imagine how much discussion went into that the past two hours.

The fact that the kid died makes me question whether or not that's the right call...I know it's all over the net...so I'm assuming that's why they made that choice...but I get queasy showing an actual death on TV.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. Preliminary thought: I'm not particularly put-off by them showing it, but I don't think they'd be losing much by not immediately showing it.

I can see Stewart's defense team using the guy running onto the middle of the track as dude putting himself at risk.... but that happens a lot in the sport when drivers get agitated. Stewart is a professional driver, no way was that an accident.

If I'm making the call I don't show the video...if people really want to see it they can go find it. But, it comes off as rather callous to show it...especially if you're going to transition right into football highlights like it was just another sport event that happened.

I don't disagree. I wouldn't have showed it immediately...maybe as coverage progressed and more thought was put into it.
