Sucks for Shanks he's done pretty much nothing at FSU with his build he looked like he could be a potential trump card on the line.

@goatnole give me your opinion on who you think starts opposite Rashad after spring ball.

anybody really even care who we put there (i.e. 1 guy vs DT by committee/situation)...not sweating that part of the line at all...they're all different and bring something to the table...

Well he haven't been asked to do much since he's been here, besides get his body right. He's done that so far. DT/NG is a tough position to play coming out of HS, Jernigan was a beast and weight lifting champ coming out of HS so he maybe the exception to the rule. Not having depth at DT/NG hurt Jacobbi during his early years here at FSU, because he wasn't ready. I'm glad we have the luxury to RS guys and work them into playing when the time is right.

I hope it's Isiah Jones that steps up. I'm not depending on Ermon right now. Not too many FR WR get that burn in Fisher's system. Greene did as a FR, but he is Rashad Greene. Shaw got a lil PT his freshman year, but not like Greene did.

I'm not stressing it, but just wondering. I think we will be fine to be honest.

@goatnole @klutch2381 y'all gonna have any news on junior day this weekend? :lupe:

I'm not. Tomorrow's my birthday. I'm probably going back home to Orlando for the weekend.

I'll hit y'all off with some updates, though. I have a sub to 24/7 and Warchant as of now. :youngsabo:

Florida State's first junior day of the year resulted in a big haul for the Seminoles. A pair of players committed on Saturday. In addition to a 2016 pledge from Godby's Cedric Wood, FSU also picked up a commitment from 2015 linebacker Brian Bell of Lowndes High School (Valdosta, Ga.)

Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) Linebacker Brian Bell committed to FSU on Saturday.
Bell is a 6-foot-2, 200 pound prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Louisville. He was offered by FSU earlier this month.

"I picked FSU because it is close to home," he said. "Everything just clicked here for me. I knew I wanted to be at FSU."

In a recent article from JacketsOnline.com, he said he grew up a Florida fan but decided to enter the process with a fresh perspective.

Bell plays outside linebacker but has also played inside linebacker. Last season he had 55 tackles, an interception and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown.

"FSU likes me at inside linebacker," Bell said. "I have a good connection with Coach (Charles) Kelly. He feels I fit well in their system." Bell is Florida State's eighth commitment for its 2015 recruiting class and the first linebacker commitment. Seven of FSU's commitments in the 2015 class come from players within the state of Florida.

Florida State's coaches made it clear they wanted to keep elite talent in Tallahassee. The Seminoles got off to an early start by landing 2016 Godby Standout Cedric Wood.

The sophomore defensive tackle committed to FSU on Saturday at the Seminoles' junior day.

I grew up an FSU fan my entire life," Wood said. "I just walked into Jimbo Fishers office and told him I was ready to be a Seminole."

FSU defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins helped FSU land a 2016 commitment on Saturday.
The 'Noles signed linebacker Jacob Pugh and long snapperStephen Gabbard from the Cougars in their 2014 class. Wood continues the pipeline to FSU.

"Jacob is like a big brother to me," he said. "Knowing he is here (at FSU) made my commitment even better."

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound rising star missed some of his sophomore season with an ankle injury. Despite that, he was a big part of Godby's defensive line last year. He managed to finish the season with 21 tackles, including 13 solo tackles and 9 tackles for loss. He also had two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Wood's commitment was hardly a surprise. His explosive athletic ability off the line of scrimmage immediately grabbed the attention of the FSU staff. He showed off his talent at last summer's Jimbo Fisher camp. Since then, the 'Noles made it clear they had high interest in the lineman.

"I love working with Coach Odell (Haggins)," Wood said. "He is a great guy. I know he can make me the best player possible."

Wood is the first commitment for Florida State's 2016 recruiting class.

Douglas (Ga.) Coffee offensive lineman Cole Minshew was offered by Florida State Saturday during his visit. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound guard wasted little time accepting.

"I committed to Florida State," Minshew said.

Minshew, a standout during the Rising Seniors Junior Bowl all-star game, gives the Seminoles seven commitments for the 2015 class.

Stay tuned to Noles247 as they work to get more information on this breaking news.

Case involved Ira Denson, Mario Pender. "@TDOnline: Madison man arrested on murder charge in Seminole Ridge shooting http://www.tallahassee.com/article/20140307/NEWS/140307007…

Tarron Addison, 20, of Madison, was arrested Thursday on a charge of premeditated murder in connection with the shooting of Tim Pruitt on Dec. 22, according to court documents.

Police were called to the Seminole Ridge Apartments at 1375 Pullen Road at 5:43 p.m. in response to gunshots. Pruitt had already been rushed to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare with a gunshot wound to the head. According to court documents, a bullet entered his left ear and got lodged behind his left eye.

Witness Delmarick "Mario" Pender told Tallahassee police officers that a man named Ira Denson had used his missing debit card to make purchases two days before. On Dec. 22, Pender said he went to Denson's apartment to confront him about the theft. Denson was not there, so Pender took a pair of Denson's shoes as "collateral," he told police.

Pender then called Denson, who was at home in Madison, demanding his money. Denson said he would come to Tallahassee to repay him and recover his shoes, according to court documents.

On Dec. 22, at 5:32 p.m., Pender got a text from Denson saying he'd be stopping by Pender's apartment soon with the money. When Denson arrived, Pruitt, Pender's half brother, went down to meet Denson and another man in a white PT Cruiser to exchange the money and shoes. Pender said Denson was in the passenger seat. The other man, who Pender could not identify, was standing outside the car, according to court documents.

Pender said he heard Pruitt verbally chastise Denson for taking his brother's money. Pruitt placed the shoes in the car's trunk and as the car backed out to leave, Pender said he saw the driver point a chrome revolver out of the driver's side window and shoot three to four times in the direction of Pruitt and Pender. Pender said Pruitt started holding his head and saying he had been shot, according to court documents.

Denson, in an interview with police, said Addison fired six times as they left the parking lot, according to court documents.

Addison is currently in Leon County Jail.
