The developments in E4 are pretty interesting, again, A LOT OF genre cliches. The woman who gets discovered with a locked door, briefcase, whatever. The house looked great though. This may be unfair, but Samantha isn't seductive, or sexy enough to sell some of her scenes. She comes across with almost no sexuality. Like I know women that aren't actors, but they could sell that better. She seemed very forced and awkward for someone who sells intimacy like a stripper or escort.

The Sato scenes. Stronger. The tension buildup was solid. I caught the foreshadowing with gas can. As they enter the cabin, the camera lingers for a second on the outside structure, and you see the gas can. I thought at first it was like suitcases, or duffles, indicating he was planning on robbing them, like he had others. The falling action scenes were good. The tension was not what it should have been. again,

they play it all so obvious. The guy they meet is obviously a goon and something is wrong. Too aggressive. Disrespectful. Sloppy. The part where they try to bully Sato worked and the tension was done well, as he watched them through the window. it didn't quite have the brutality and violence and shock it should have. But, it's a stronger scene. I liked what they were going for.

:ohhh:..... damn..... your criticisms make me feel like a low brow media. consumer...... how do you have such knowledge on the whole process?

What yo credentials cuz???... :birdman: I gotta get out. of pocket, you making me feel like a simpleton.:patrice:.... (I agree on Sam tho, she gets away with too much)

It's mostly just reading film critics, like Roger Ebert is one, who I have read a lot of his books, which are just movie reviews, which kind of gives you the frame work to evaluate a movie, or whatever, from a different place than just "is it entertaining" . Movie critics tend to get a lot of kind of disregard, but they are usually approaching a movie closer to how any of us would, the fact we are even on forums says it all. Most people don't do that.

I have taken a film class, got more out of just reading old movie reviews, and Ebert's books of bad movie reviews, what it's important is to not just say it's good or it's bad, which is what the "common person" dies, but instead what you like, and why you liked it.

have friends in that business, and they put me up on things here and there from the business/structure side of how shows get made. Also, read Robert Mckee Story. That maps out the concept of story is really foundational, but there are only so many different types, usually. Like my use of genre fiction, only means they are telling very familiar stories here, we have seen all these before, even if you don't always realize it at first.

Fish out of water: Jake goes to Japan/ adapts to the customs, is able to take down the Yakuza/ similar to Black Rain. but that's also like the concept of Avatar. And Pocohantas. Falls in love with native woman, who has break her ties to her previous life, which is more traditional. Being a gangster's mistress, as opposed to whatever kind of liberated heterosexuality Jake is selling.

Cop/Romance with a Yakuza girl/ pick any number of Miami Vice episodes from the 80's and a dozen other movies we all know

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Sato getting shytted on by everyone this season.:dead:

Samantha emasculating him; Hayama acting like Alpo in the club, and wishing Sato would do something; his own little brother dusting him in street fighter; creepy gun connect that nicknamed him sugar.:dead:

Tozawa doing his best Marlo impersonation, and throwing Japanese Prop Joe out of a window. Next, watch Oyabun get caught with hand grenades during a police raid.:dead:
