The actor playing Adelstein isn't built for this and of course some of his stories are embellished. No what Adelstein is running the fade with Japanese gangsters in no reality

Mann didn't write any of the show.He just directed the episode. That meeting likely never happened. They could get that message across without giving him a full on sitdown and even if it did its complete bullshyt he sat their smug while getting threatened.Unsurprising, but really, it's just a set up for a story that is clearly, clearly fiction. I knew that the first meeting probably did happen, given Mann, and his research and detail, but almost everything else beyond the set up, is writers room creation. There is even a little too much "bad boy" sex appeal in the later episodes that struck me as little unneeded to say the least. Having an affair with Towaza's mistress was really extra, and obviously fiction.
Especially the cop. Whether he thought the vice cop was in on it or not it was obviously a setup to see if the vice cop was still trustworthy.Writing on this shyt is weak as fukk. How did Samantha and that cop not see that they were walking right into setups? Only good thing is at least Jake finally got the shyt kicked out him
yeah agreed most "true stories" are bs anyways. Show is still pretty good. Some people saying covid messed up shooting but who knows.@DaddyFresh
Maybe a better way to phrase would be, that part was in the book, which it was. Whether that was wildly inflated, sure, who knows? But, the other, more lurid, more made for TV subplots, weren't in the book, which itself is being questioned for accuracy. None of which really affects much for me, I still really liked the show overall, but the last several episodes brought it down at least a full point to me.
why is Mann wasting his time on this when he should be directing that Heat 2 sequel
