Agree, tore my Achilles at age 38 (I'm 41 now) playing with phukin teenagers. Mind you, the day I went to the park was so my 8 year old could shoot around (I had no intention of playing whatsoever).
I actually turned them down two times, because they needed an extra man. A few minutes later, they asked me a third time. I was like fine.
About 10 minutes into the game, I'm feeling good and decided to horse this kid for a rebound....I swear I never felt so high up in the air grabbing that rebound
I remember looking at the youngin, in the air while grabbing the rebound
When I landed, my phukin foot literally felt like it melted through the asphalt (I'm talking T1000 liquid metal type feeling) I never felt that sensation before or since.
I instantly knew I tore my Achilles
Youngins on the court were looking at me like
damn this old dude is
The entire walk home my son was looking at me like
My ankle is all healed up, I feel great! I've done a lot of running and jogging on it since, but I'll be damned if I ever play ball full force again.
