sorry if this was posted already:
"According to Darren Wolfson, the Wolves had stopped their pursuit of Willie Green a 3-point specialist who last player for Atlanta. Willie Greens camp was informed that Kahn is working on a deal that cancels the need for him. Green, a 44% 3-point shooter last year is by no means a terrible shooter outside. So this leads to speculation of who could the Wolves be gunning after. So lets speculate who.
Brandon Rush (SG/SF, RFA): A pretty solid scorer he appeared in my write-up a few days ago because of his fantastic shooting from outside (45% from 3-point land). And made nearly 100. He was on pace for 803 points in an 82 game season if there was no lock-out. The guy can score. And if he were on the Wolves last year with the same numbers, he would have been the 4th leading scorer. And averages nearly a steal per game (.9 steals per game last year). Hes an improving player, and in Adelmans system. Could very well explode. This guy is a favorite for Wolves fans because of the offensive numbers he puts up. His Per 36 is solid at 13.3 ppg. And is athletic enough to catch those lobs. Kahn did speak with his agent. While its not confirmed it was about him (it could be about his teammate last year Dominic McGuire). Rush could see an explosion in performance in Adelman system ala Kevin Martin.
Dominic McGuire (SF/PF, UFA): A defensive-minded guy who has had mixed results. The guy is a mediocre scorer. For a 2nd rounder the guy is not anything like a bust, hes a moderately successful player for a guy drafted where he was. His defense is just about average enough to where it would benefit the team defensively for a defense-minded second unit. If I were to compare him to anyone it would be a guy like a poor-mans Kenyon Martin. He cant score or defend as well. But he isnt terrible on defense which this team needs just as much. The team was 10th on offense last year. But fell to 25th in defense after being in the top 15 on defense before the All-Star break. So this guy signing with the Wolves would be a positive, just not earth-shattering.
Andre Iguodala (SG/SF, currently playing for the 76ers): The Wolves fans wet dream. Ever since a report came out about the Wolves being offered for Martell Webster (in which you are probably reading the words could have been traded for Martell Webster with a grossly confused and disgusted look snatching your pitchforks to riot outside Kahns house wait
its not like he traded Derrick Williams for Andris Biedrins which I would probably join you). Iggys contract is crazy-expensive and the Sixers do have some buyers remorse for that (similar to the remorse Denver had to signing Nenê. It is worth it to mention that if Kahn could have done it for Martell, he probably would have. But that contract is just obscenely large ($15 million per year). And the team has yet to sign Alexey Shved, Brandon Roy, Greg Steimsma, and trade for Dante Cunningham. Iggy is playing with Love at the Olympics right now. Im sure that if their friendship is any indication and Iggy opts out of his contract next season (which is possible). He could rally Iggy to come here. But until then, our best bet at landing Iggy would be to trade a lot of assets and picks.
Andrei Kirilenko (SF/PF, currently playing for CSKA Moscow): Reliably defensively and having his best season yet in Moscow, could be lured here by Alexey Shved coming here. Andrei hasnt officially made a decision and when he does I will update this post (if I remember). Im sure Mr. Gets a Free Pass from his Hot Russian Pop Star Wife could be had for a decent price. Just not a given and could potentially backfire.
Ronnie Brewer (SG/SF, UFA): Was supposed to be Minnesota-bound as of a week ago and not a peep has been said since. He shot at around 43% (.427 rounded up). His true shooting percentage is right about 47% (.465 rounded up). His offensive performances are on a decline. But he can rely on his defense and athleticism to help him out and averages about 7 ppg. Hes a guy who could very well benefit from a guy like Ricky Rubio or Alexey Shved passing him the ball and lobbing balls for alley-oops.
Trade Assets the Wolves Have:
Jose Juan Barea: JJ has been a disappointment, there is hope for him here if he stays healthy and his PER was actually higher than Luke Ridnour. If JJ would stop and think about some of his passes or driving to the lane with a guy clearly in front of him, he is one of the better players on the team. And was the leading scorer while Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, and Luke Ridnour.
Luke Ridnour: Hes been there through the worst and people want to root for Luke. Hes got an underdog mentality and took great strides this year. Hes consistent and likeable. Everybody wants this guy to win. And a lot of people, despite not being as efficient as JJ, he is a good locker room guy and keeps people motivated. And when he went out after the amazing Thunder game that went into double overtime that honestly put the nail in the coffin for the Wolves to bounce back because of how well liked he is. Kevin Love appeared to work better with him too.
Derrick Williams: Derrick Williams has been in virtually damn near every trade discussion the Wolves have been in since February of this year. And after a rough Summer League against the NBAs scraps. Could be losing value and losing it quickly. Hes not squaring up on his shot properly, hes looking confused on the court, and is turning the ball over at a disturbing rate. If they dont trade him sooner, his value could be near next to nothing.
Wes Johnson: Despite coming off a mediocre season, he seems to be more liked by Adelman because for one, he was one of the better defenders than a lot of guys on that team and is still a mediocre defender. If Adelman and Kahn actually managed to land Courtney Lee, Wes would have been gone. But in Summer League he looked good against the scraps of the NBA. Which can boost his trade value slightly. He may actually remain here until the trade deadline if hes given time to boost his value.
Memphis 2013 first-round pick (top-14 protected) via Houston Shane Battier trade, Jazz 2013 first-round pick (top-12 protected), and whatever pick they get this year depending on their performance.
Malcolm Lee: Good defender, iffy on a few other things. Could be great with the right coaching. There is just too much here for attention to be put on Lee for him to develop.
Notes: The 2013 pick from Jazz could be swapped for a 2014 pick that is top-9 protected."
