It was at a catchweight, that said Canelo wasn't the best fighter at 154 either, I thought he lost to Trout, even with the knockdown and lost to Lara.
That said my point still stands, Floyd didn't fight any top fighters at 154 without a catchweight and that was for a reason.
Name a top fighter at 154 that Floyd ever fought, without a catchweight?
Can't think of one can you? There is a reason for that. And there have been good Jr. MWs: Lara, Charlos, Trout, and Andrade to name a few. Never called our there names never tried to fight them and we know why.

Floyd said it himself ringside on a Showtime card he was promoting that he doesn't want to fight actual boxers, he only wanted to fight McGregor.

Floyd knows he is at the point were against real high level boxers, with more athleticism and more energy he wouldn't be able to fight and fight how he wants to fight anymore. Which is why he retired and only came back for this ridiculous exhibition with a 300 mil payday

Are you saying that you think Canelo can knock out current Floyd? That's the fight Oscar has been angling for...its what he wanted...what he he said on LIVE TV. Lol.

Connor couldn't knee tackle etc or risk his bag, those tatics chino, canelo and others implored prevented them from being dropped when hurt
Maidana didn't get knocked out the first fight though? LOL
You don't do well when you get dominated and TKO'd late

Floyd fought like Antonio Margarito last night lol
Walking straight, pressuring, taking a shot here and there. boy gave no fukks and no had no respect for him
Floyd woulda fought differently if he was fighting a real fighter, but I did see flashes of him being washed/rusty

This is 100% accurate

Im sayin a casino refused him. What bookie would look at this fight and accept a bet from all time great boxer in a boxing match to defeat an amateur (he's below an amateur imo) and pick what rnd he would do it. They would susoect shenanigans and they'd be right
Typically he can send someone there to place the bet for him if its open. You know that right?

I don't know why this dude is getting gassed up to fight other pro boxers in all honesty. Other fighters will not be as merciful and generous as Floyd was in this match. I don't even think Mcgregor could take on some of these young nikkas out here. Shakur Stevenson would probably wash this man.

summary:

  • McGregor did better than I expected so hats off, he's a tough mfer at the end of the day
  • with that said I only gave him the first 2 clearly and then maybe the third but that was very close, could go ether way
  • it was weird to see Mayweather as a pressure fighter, he was a little out of his element but got the job done
  • the 2 years off and his age seemed on Mayweather, he was sloppier than before
  • McGregor's gas tank couldn't keep up as it was expected
  • McGregor has a pretty bad defense but had a good understanding of distance, he really can use his length and size, I mean he could in the first few rounds
  • McGregor's chin was better than I thought, I thought if he's gonna get hit with punches with full body weight behind them also a lot more often and consistently than in MMA he's gonna fold earlier but he hung tough until the end.
  • if McGregor gets a good conditioning coach and a legit boxing team and works a little more on understanding what not to do - like those hammer fists...-, he can hang around but I wouldn't pick him against any of the 154 or 160 pound champs right now. Those guys are a lot bigger than Floyd, also usually younger with more power too.
  • Not really interested in McGregor vs Malignaggi, Malignaggi should stay retired
  • I can see the winner of Canelo vs GGG against McGregor though, depending on how well Canelo vs GGG will do on PPV. If it does good numbers I can easily see them making it, there would be immense money in that fight especially if Canelo would beat GGG.
  • the ref shoulda deduct a point from McGregor either for the hammer fists or for when he launched a combo from behind Floyd. Didn't seem malicious rather just a bad reflex but that should have been penalized

Nah he will never be more than a bum in boxing, too late, he isn't talented enough.
Floyd was the perfect guy for him, if he fought against Berto he would have been put to sleep early
