let me read through the thread but I don't think its absurd to have a high IQ. I tested at 135 at my lowest and 155 at highest. Most IQ tests are just puzzles and I'm good at those. It's apparent to myself I under estimate how intelligent I am but in the end its what you do with it that counts.
I was interested at one point in joining Mensa (genius society) took some of the prelim tests and I think they contact people with certain scores. The first thing that caught my eye of theirs was this

Things like chess where I had the same opportunity we (my friends as well who were genius, one in particular who was more so than myself) out thought them.

No test can accurately account for future changes of every variable that effects the ability to receive and use information.
So your IQ could be low during a test and then become significatly higher after, sht is pointless to me.

I used to be pretty smart but all that went by the wayside. My advice is to keep challenging your brain or it will atrophy. If you're not in college just use their library, it's a treasure trove of knowledge. It will keep you fed. Sucks going from a prodigy to a washout.
