This was definitely influenced by Timbaland. Even has a Ginuwine feature for measure. At that point, Timbaland beats were all we had heard Ginuwine on.
Mariah's "Breakdown" also has a Timbo vibe to it. Both songs were produced by Stevie J. Stevie J was in Da Bassment with Timbaland and talks about how Timbaland influenced the production on "Notorious Thugs".
