Lol. If TikTok cared about "free expression", they'd have the same content allowed in the US in China.
Thats the fault of congress, breh.

The government doesn’t care anything about the ills of social media, but instead attempting to detangle the US and China economies to initiate a new Cold War.

Thats not a defense of China or the use of TikTok, but our government not giving a fukk about the problems with this platform.

I have to say, ol' boy from TikTok did pretty damn well yesterday but Congress showed its whole ass about not understanding social media as a whole, data laws, and the data economy.

"Rising Sun" has been on HBO Max as of late and reminds me of that paranoia the US had in the 80's and early 90's with Japanese companies buying up American companies, real estate, etc. We're seeing the same shyt on another level now and with a far more globalized world.

Imma check Rising Sun out, but I remember the fear afterward with car companies and the like.

They’ll force a buy out.

That’s about 7K jobs at risk. If they decide to remove it.

Plus a lot of “influencers” make money from it

their job is just as real as the hosts of QVC or celebrities doing infomercials or being spokepersons.:manny:

it's not new, theres just fewer gatekeepers.
And you know the more I think about it. I’m honestly ok with TikTok.

It’s not for me.

But some people have been able to leverage their careers financially

Log into your vpn and put in Chinese ip or Asian country ip and go on tik tok and search for mindless vids.. You will get zero results… put an US IP then search tik Tok and you will get millions of hits for mindless bullshyt
there's money in the motive, but there's also a more sinister plan....and tiktok/musical.ly is a small part of it
