He’s saying all data regardless of the actual platform should be regulated and I think that’s the more important point. As a consumer I would like assurance that other apps aren’t using my data or selling it which obviously isn’t going to be protected unless there’s federal laws around it for everyone.

this is much better than the U.S building out the technical infrastructure and legal framework to block apps and web services.

I feel like his MTG stunt is glossing over how he played the race card to overlook a potential (long-term) security threat. Permanently lost my ability to trust him with that move and I'm not even a national security hawk like that.

I want to believe in him, but everything he does seems to be for clout & seems very self-aggrandizing in the way he moves. Something about his character strikes me as a (very) toned down version of Avenatti, and I would be surprised if skeletons are in his closet

shyt is getting real in the field right now.

EDIT: I sought up Bowman's latest take:

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., posted a TikTok message Thursday accusing his colleagues of “trying to ban TikTok.”

Bowman, who has 234,000 followers on TikTok, later told NBC News that he wants to see “comprehensive social media reform” and that he’s probably opposed to the legislation at this point.

“Once again, it just feels like we’re singling out TikTok, and I don’t quite understand why,” he said.
