For some reason, folks gloss over this era…

U know it was a bad era when Jim Jones was appearing on every remix.

The South ruled the mixtape game:

Yo Gotti
Gucci Mane
Boosie
Plies
Curren$y
Jeezy
T.I

NY mixtapes fell off after 2006 tbh

:russ: Yo Jim is my favorite dipset member but folks legit was on every posse cut during this time hahaha every damn remix

Folks was on some other shyt during this era those Gucci tapes were the embodiment of rap man

It doesn’t get more gutta than this

What is bolded in the original text is true about the south in the past. I was working on a book based on expeirnces of senior citizens growing up as I asked everyone the same questions. Even in my family, many of the men didn't finish school and a lot of males from their era had to drop out of school in their early teens to help the family financially. I always wondered why my grandparents and others just didnt stop making kids that they couldn't afford. A few of the people have now died that I interviewed, and I still have the audio of my research. One of my subjects passed away at the age of 72 and he told me his mother allowed him and his siblings to finish school in an era that many of the kids were taken out of school to work. So this happened a lot here in the south where education wasn't as important for a lot of black families. I have 11 aunts and uncles and so many first cousins that I don't care to sit down and count. All I know is that only 3 of my first cousins have college degrees. I'm my grandparents' only grandson with a college degree. It just used to be differnt down here.
RZAs point is dumb as fukk considering most of the nikkas from the golden era of NY hip hop dropped out at like 15-16 breh :unimpressed:

DJ Toomp>>>>>>>>>>>>>>RZA

Without samples RZA ain't fukking with Toomp

:mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol: anyway I;m not into dissing my country cousins anymore but as west coast breh living in various parts of the south the shyt is somewhat true but not for the reasons RZA is saying. They really fukk black people over with schooling in the south to the point teachers don't even have books or lesson plans. My niece was going to elementry school in Desoto at a charter school of all places and begged my sister to put her back in private school because they lack the resources :unimpressed:
